Zenith entered the viewing room, a heavy sigh escaped his lips. "Clearly, she is far from pleased. In fact, she may even be looking to sue," he worriedly informed the trio. Placing his hands inside his pockets, he stood alongside them in front of the wide two-sided mirror, where they all had a perfect view of Mrs. Mason handcuffed to a table in the interrogation room. "For the time being, we will keep her confined here, but we will eventually have to let her go."

"She can take us to court if she wants, it'll be her own downfall anyway, we have enough evidence that rules her as a solid suspect with a good motive," Loriatte shrugged, leaning against the cold gray wall, her eyes staring daggers at the old lady who sat in the interrogation room calmly nestling a cup of tea with her free hand as if she wasn't being held for the suspicions of kidnap and murder. "We can take this to fucking court if she wants."

"Jeez, whatever happened to being nice to the sweet old lady?" Doug asked with a playful smile on his face, he looked down at her with his hands stuffed in the pockets of his blue cargo pants.

"Tsk, that sweet old lady is behind the murder of my only friend, whether we find Shane or not, I'm going to make sure that her and everyone responsible for it burns in the deepest parts of hell, even if it's the last thing I do," Lorriatte declared, nothing but determination in her eyes.

The three law enforcers exchanged worried looks. "Well," Zenith cleared his throat, loosening his beige tie, "it's been a long day for all of us. You guys take five, and we'll pick this up tomorrow. In the meantime, I'll see what I can get out of our main suspect before we let her go."

"She's lucky I'm not the one going in there and questioning her, a real fucking interrogation it'll be," she huffed, pushing herself off the wall and stomping out of the room.

"I'll take care of it," Zayden nodded to the two men, as they exited the room. He caught up with her, swiftly slipping into the elevator just before the doors closed.

"And what happened to your face?" Zenith finally asked Doug when they were left alone, eyeing the horrible purple and blue bruise around his left eye.

"Your brother assaulted me, he's lucky I'm not pressing charges against him," Doug dramatically informed Zenith.

"I'm sure you deserved it," the older male only shrugged.

"Of course, you would take his side," Doug gave him a pointed look to which he replied to with a shrug.

"Well, I don't really have a life outside of work, so can I hang with you?" Doug asked with hopeful eyes directed at Zenith as they neared the elevators.

"No."

"Can I hang with you, pleeease?"

"Get out of my department, Doug," Zenith waved him away.

With a pout, Doug turned his gaze to Zenith one last time, before reluctantly making his way to the elevator and pressing the button to call it back up. While he waited, he faced Zenith with the most sorrowful pout he could muster, both their eyes locked in an intense stare off.

"Whatever you're trying to do, it's not going to work," Zenith shook his head. He couldn't help but find it funny that such a grown man with a job that demanded toughness and seriousness at all times was acting like a little kid.

"I'm lonely," Doug whispered loud enough for him to hear, the sound of the elevator arriving stopped Zenith from cussing him out.

"Great, leave."

"You and your brother are so mean to me, I deserve justice," he wiped away false tears, stepping into the elevator. "Bye Zenny, see you tomorrow!" he cheerfully waved as the elevator slid shut.
