"You are. To me."

"I-I am?"

"Mhm," The lady purred as she circled me. "Normally we don't invite the help, but Mother's hosting a costume ball soon — you should dress up."

"When is it? I-I don't even know-," I squeaked when my back suddenly hit a wall, pinning me between it and the lady.

"If you agree to go with me, you'll get the answers to your questions."

"An-and if I don't?"

Hurt flashed in her gold eyes before Lady Cassandra pulled away. "Then we both walk away and pretend this never happened. And I'll leave you alone. Forever."

'Forever?! Well, I certainly don't want that!' I shook my head with a frown. "That's not necessary-."

"Your heart keeps skipping when I say certain things and that normally only happens when-."

"It's because I think you're cute!"

Silence filled the air when I squeezed my eyes shut, my heart pounding wildly against my chest. "...Oh..."

'Oh? Oh?! OH?!' My heart shattered when the silence was replaced with a buzzing that quickly left me. 'Gods, you're an idiot, Isa! Why would you say that?!' I reluctantly opened my eyes and confirmed that the lady had left, letting me continue my walk to my bedroom. 'This has been the worst day so far.'

Once I reached my room, I shut my door and slipped my shirt off, watching the shadows quickly rush to any wounds that hadn't healed. A faint smile appeared on my face when the shadows dispersed and my injuries were gone, the only reminder of the torture was the ache all over my body. And my wings. 'My wing is going to cause so much trouble now. Even healed, it won't be good as new for a while. I'll be grounded.'

I grabbed a binder and slipped it on — putting my shirt on again shortly after. Once I was ready, I left my room to begin walking back to the lady, my pace a bit faster now that my body wasn't focusing on healing. I returned to the opera hall faster this time, sending the lady a sheepish smile once I was near her again.

"That didn't go how you thought, did it?"

I cringed at her furious tone, knowing she heard everything between Lady Cassandra and myself. "I-I promise, my lady, I-I meant nothing bad by it! I just... I didn't want her to think I was uncomfortable with what she's said to me. Guess I ruined that. ...Does this mean I should leave instead of staying here?"

"It does," She nearly growled, causing me to nod and bow my head to her. 'I know protective mothers better than anyone.'

"I understand, my lady."

'Gods, it got worse?!' I groaned to myself when I left the opera hall. '...Can I raise a kid in this environment? If I am pregnant and I keep the kid, how's growing up in this castle going to affect them?' I shook the thought away as I traversed the hallways until I reached an empty room. 'I wonder...'

Before doing anything, I glanced down the hall and shut the door, locking it before I turned to face the empty room. 'This would be perfect for our training equipment. Hunter's cauldron and spell books, my weapons and poisons, Basil's-...' I stumbled back when the wave of grief hit me, trying to think about something other than him and what happened.

"Isa? Are you the one in here?" Lady Daniela's voice sounded on the other side of the door. "Can you unlock the door?"

'Why is she here? No one was around — not even her flies,' The sound of the lock reached my ears before I moved away from the door, letting the lady in. "Why are you here?"

"I could hear your heart from the library — it's not far from here — and it reached a concerning speed."

"Concerning?"

"I think you're having an anxiety attack."

"I-I don't... I don't have anxiety."

'Yes, you do.'

'SHUT UP, APOLLO?!'

"You can still have one without being diagnosed. People can feel anxiety without having clinical anxiety."

"...I don't like smart people," I grumbled, making the lady crack a smile.

"Do I get a pass because I'm pretty?" Lady Daniela giggled, sliding her hand to my throat before gripping it tight. "Don't ever flirt with Cassandra again, got it?"

"I-I wasn't tr-trying to, honest! I ju-just didn't want her to th-think I was scared of her! Guess this means I'm not going to that costume ball with her," The pout was involuntary, but the balls on Olympus were always fun, so a costume ball would be a nice spice to the usual ball scene. "Well, I'll be there as a maid."

"...Wait, that's what led to that?!" Lady Daniela released my throat, flinching slightly when I began to cough and try to take in air. "Sorry... Sometimes I forget how strong the cadou made me."

"I've suffered through worse."

"That doesn't help, somehow... Do you want to go? You can be my guest."

I shook my head and rubbed my throat. "I've angered your family enough... I just need to lay low — act like a normal maid."

"But you're not a normal maid."

"I know," I sighed and leaned against the wall. "That's what got me in this mess. Father always said I would have a hard time adjusting to society... I thought when we were forced to stay here, things would be different since you four aren't human. But you were once..."

"You're half!"

"I don't acknowledge that half," I growled accidentally, making the lady's eyes widen. "I-I'm sorry... My human mother isn't the best, so I avoid remembering that I'm half-human as often as I can."

"That bad?"

"She left me for dead more than once. The first time, my father was forced to return me to her. She managed to get rid of me again years later... I've been with my mom and dad since — give or take a few years."

"Huh?" Her head tilt made my heart melt.

"That's... A story for next time."

"Next time?" She hummed and pecked my cheek. "Same time tomorrow? But, meet me in the library instead. Unless you'd rather I meet you in your room?"

"...Are you flirting with me?"

"...Yes."

"Is this the part where I flirt back or should I just get flustered?"

Lady Daniela giggled and left the room. "Get flustered!"

Once the door shut and her buzzing faded, I let out a shaky breath, glancing down at my body when it burst into flames. 'At least she was gone when this happened...' My body froze when the door opened again, eyes lifting to land on Lady Dimitrescu. 'Okay, Fates, go fuck yourselves!'

I took slow steps back as she entered the room, an awkward laugh leaving me when my flames went from red to white. 'NO! DON'T GET HOTTER?! THAT'S THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT I WANT!' The lady cleared her throat and I flinched trying to focus on my aunts to calm down. 'They always managed to calm me down when I was little and got like this... How'd they do it?!'

"Isa... Why are you on fire?"
