I stopped and reread that part. "Result in the least casualties? And according to what the gods have told me, Isa's very gifted in the science field. Maybe befriending them won't be so bad."

First-Person POV

"Did you hear that?" I muttered after hearing a bird caw.

"No," Hunter responded with a smile as a gasp left her. "Good morning, baby boy. I see you've decided to wake up again!"

'I'm glad I kept him,' I smiled as I turned my attention back to Hunter. "What color are they?"

"Hazel, but there's a hint of violet — near his pupils."

"Then who knows? Maybe your eyes will win."

"He has your freckles. My nose."

"It's a cute nose," I chuckled and turned my attention to the door as it opened. "Cass, hey!"

"I brought food," Cassandra smiled as she carried a plate to me. "And, if it's okay with Hunter, maybe she could watch Costin while we could go for a walk?"

Hunter looked up after a moment and blinked rapidly at Cassandra. "...When did you get here?"

"She's busy being a mom," I laughed at the vampire and took the plate. "Hunter will take every opportunity to spend time with our son."

"Oh, yeah, do whatever you want," The witch smiled before she leaned against my headboard. "Isa, are the diapers in the same spot?"

"They are. You organized everything, and I didn't bother touching it. I know how you are with your sorting."

After I finished eating, Cassandra helped me out of bed and walked me to the bathroom, promising to be right back. As the lady left the bathroom, I began running the bath water, letting me stand and remove my gown. 'Can finally get out of this thing,' I groaned internally before entering the bath. 'I can't wait to return to my normal schedule and training. Gods, I miss training.' My eyes shifted to Cassandra when she returned, sending her a smile as she closed the door.

"How's the water?"

"Nice and hot," I sighed in relief. "...When did your sisters develop feelings for me?! I know when you did."

"Duh, because I had to kiss you to get the point across," Cassandra huffed before kneeling next to the tub, scooping a handful of water onto my shoulder. "This looks like a bad scar."

"Fatal wound," I hummed as she traced the rugged scar that stopped just above my heart. "Courtesy of Prometheus himself — old bastard."

Cassandra was silent for a moment before she leaned forward and kissed the scar, letting her fingertips dance along the edge of it. "Did you get him back?"

"I wish. Hunter did. She owes me now — twice! I had her son! She owes me twice now!"

The vampire giggled and trailed her hand to my cheek, stopping her hand when I flinched. "...Still hard to acknowledge this one?"

"Yeah," I frowned before placing my hand over hers, pressing her palm to my scar. "Why do you like it so much? It's the first thing people notice when they look at me now."

"I think I should tell you about how and when my sisters fell for you."

"... I'm listening."
