"How about we grab something sweet? I smell cupcakes."

"...What kind?"

Cassandra tilted her head and hummed. "Red Velvet."

I sunk into the shadows before walking out of them near the door. "Let's go."

Cassandra laughed into the pillow before joining me. "I didn't realize you loved cupcakes this much."

"I don't. My Mother used to make red velvet cupcakes — or cookies — to cheer me up before she had to leave for Olympus. My grandfather, shockingly, continued the tradition when I was dragged into Tartarus. He said he didn't want me to forget her — it's one of the few good things he's ever done."

"In that case," Cassandra hummed and wrapped her arms around my waist. "Shall I fly you there?"

I snaked my arms around her neck with a hum, ghosting my lips over hers. "Kiss me first?"

"With pleasure," The vampire purred before connecting our lips.

'So easy to get a kiss from her,' I smiled into the kiss before she pulled away, letting her open the door and swarm me to the kitchen. '...They planned this.' I rolled my eyes at Bela and Daniela before smiling at them, waiting for Cassandra to set me down. 'I don't know how they knew to make red velvet cupcakes, but they guessed right.' The triplets brought over a cupcake and took their seats around the island, waiting for me to take a bite.

Instead of picking up the cupcake myself, Daniela picked it up and removed the cupcake liner. She handed the cupcake to Cassandra, who gently grabbed my jaw before moving the cupcake to my mouth. Heat burned on my cheeks as I took a bite of the cupcake, a low, rumbling purr rising in my throat at the taste. 'Almost like mother's.'

"Didn't know you could purr like that," The triplets teased. "Is it that good?"

"Amazing," I whispered after swallowing, my blush getting darker when Bela swiped some icing from my lips, cleaning it off her finger. "Almost tasted the way my mother used to make them."

"What was different?" Daniela asked, grabbing a small notepad. 'I'm guessing she's the one that came up with the idea.'

"...Blood. There was no blood."

"We didn't put- Oh. God blood?"

"No, human. My cousin, Dionysus, is the god of madness. He made me my first cupcake, and it had human blood in it. My Mother was furious when she found out, so she made me one without blood — I apparently spit it out. Ever since then, she's made them with human blood."

The triplets blinked before Bela grabbed another cupcake. "Okay, try this one."

Cassandra repeated her actions from before, bringing the cupcake to my mouth for me to eat. I happily took a bite and smiled, opening my mouth again after swallowing the previous bite. The triplets smiled as Cassandra fed me the last half of the cupcake, my tail wagging in joy. 'Just like home.'

"...Can we pet your tail?"

I blinked rapidly before glancing back and noticing the spell no longer hid my tail. "Oh, uhm, su-sure! Just be careful. It's a sensitive appendage."

"Does it shed?" Bela asked after feeling the small scales. "What color is this?"

"Once a year," I shrugged as Cassandra and Daniela joined her sister. "The color doesn't have a name, but it's a dark red — so dark it looks black. That's why I usually just tell people it's black."

"It's so..." Daniela trailed off before stopping and giggling. "Lively."

"Huh?" I glanced back and noticed my tail wrapped around Daniela's wrist. "So-sorry!"

"Don't be," She purred, petting the part around her wrist. "I think it's adorable."

'As long as she doesn't find out I did that subconsciously, I'm good!'

"Why does it sometimes appear like a cat tail?" Cassandra asked before locking eyes with me.

"A spell," I admitted. "Hunter and I figured a cat tail would be less scary to humans."

"...We like this version," The triplets purred before releasing my tail.

"I'll- I'll keep that in mind," I whispered with a shy smile.

The triplets giggled before retaking their seats around me, telling me stories of their childhood. 'I knew the Lady loved her daughters, but I never knew how badly she wanted to be a mother. Maybe that's why she was so supportive while I was pregnant.' Once the triplets stopped talking, I raised an eyebrow and glanced back, sending their mother a nervous smile.

'When did she get here? How did none of us hear her?!' The Lady chuckled at us before walking to the basement, confusing me momentarily. It wasn't until she returned with a bottle of wine that I understood better. 'Ah, right, she must've run out of wine. With Hunter taking care of Costin, and me recovering from birth, she doesn't have her usual maids to help.'

"I could've got that," I commented after the Lady grabbed a cupcake as well. "Both of those."

The Lady laughed and glanced at her daughters, who were huddled close to my chair, before speaking. "I doubt they would let you move."

I glanced at the triplets, noticing the sleepy look in their eyes. "You're right. They're sleepy too, so it would've been worse."

"We're not sleepy!" The triplets whined before yawning.

"You are," I laughed with their mother. "You're barely keeping your eyes open."

The triplets huffed and pouted, pulling away from me. "You're not supposed to side with our mother!"

"...Sorry?"

"You're lucky you're cute!"

I laughed awkwardly and rubbed the back of my neck. "You think I'm cute?"

The triplets stared at me like I had two heads, making me tilt my head and raise an eyebrow. 'Did I say something wrong?'

'I will come down there and kick your ass myself.'

'...'Dite?! I didn't say anything!'

'You were going to think it.'

'No, I wasn't!'

'Shut up and eat your cupcakes.'

"You three just got me scolded by a goddess," I grumbled and reached for another cupcake.

"Which one?" Cassandra asked with a smirk.

I took a bite of the cupcake and swallowed before responding. "...Aphrodite."

"How?!" Daniela gasped, making me clear my throat and blush.

"Uh... I may or may not have almost thought: 'But I'm not cute.' She doesn't like when people say they aren't beautiful or handsome. As the goddess of beauty, she despises most of the 'beauty standards' these days because they make most people feel unattractive.'

"...You were going to say you aren't cute?!" The triplets exclaimed before glaring at me.

"That's what you took from that?!"

"YES!"

I pursed my lips and hummed before eating the rest of the cupcake. "Why?"

"BECAUSE YOU ARE CUTE?!"
