~~Damien~~

Damien looked up as the door opened, and Ominis led Marie and Ariadne inside quietly. Marie didn't look either him or Sebastian in the eyes, and looked rather embarrassed for some reason. Surely she wasn't embarrassed about breaking down like that? It sounded like she could hardly help it. He knew a thing or two about breakdowns these days.

Sebastian looked like he wanted to say something, so he gave him a little warning look to stay quiet, which thankfully he took. He didn't want to make her upset again. The wide fearful eyes she'd had, the way she'd panicked and said she didn't want to do something... it reminded him a bit too much of the full moon nights.

It's soon...

Damien gritted his teeth in frustration. Yes he was well aware. The moon was waxing now, and with each night the wolf would grow stronger until it took him over completely during the full moon. He hated it.

"Can I have some tea?" Marie asked softly, glancing over to Damien and Sebastian sheepishly.

"Yeah, I'll get it." Damien said, standing from the couch.

"Wait- no, I can make it-" Marie said hurriedly.

"You're a guest. Just relax." Damien said over his shoulder with a casual wave as he went into the kitchen.

She calmed under the explanation as he heard a little sigh from her.

"I was thinking... we each have things we're dealing with." Sebastian said softly.

Damien set the mug against the counter a bit hard in frustration and glared over his shoulder toward Sebastian. Seriously? Just when he left the room? He couldn't keep his damn mouth shut!

"We do." Ominis nodded. "Likely even more so than when we were in school." He said pointedly.

Damien let out a little wolf-like growl of displeasure at that, knowing only Ominis would likely hear it from across the house.

"I really don't want to talk about this right now." Marie said in a low voice.

"If you don't talk about it, it will never get better." Ominis said quietly. "Trust me."

Damien looked down at the tea kettle angrily. He didn't want to talk about his problems, either. It was far easier to just keep quiet about it and pretend everything was fine.

"It's not that easy." Damien muttered.

"It is." Ominis replied from the other room.

Damien scoffed that he'd heard him, casting a little glare over his shoulder. He had missed Ominis... but he didn't miss Ominis' penchant for getting straight to the point on a subject. The man may be blind but emotionally he had the accuracy- and deadliness- of a sharpshooter.

He brought the mug of tea into the other room, holding it out to Marie gently. "Sorry we only have mugs." He muttered a bit in embarrassment.

Marie gave a soft scoff. "It's fine. Thank you." She said softly, taking the mug and glancing up to him while doing so.

He looked down into her eyes, his own widening at how dark and blue they were. It was a strangely tense moment, but it only lasted a second before she looked away from him, taking a nervous sip of tea.
