(Back to our regular schedule! Though I may have to bump it down to 1 chapter a day on occasion so just be aware of that. I don't want to get burned out lol so it may either be this story or peacekeepers)

I'll never shake away the pain...
~~Veela~~
She hated this. Frozen in place unable to say or do anything, yet she could somehow sense everything around her.
She'd heard footsteps and terror had struck her that Ominis might be back to finish the job. She'd heard noises from within the cellar but hadn't been able to make out words. The ground had shook in a terrifying manner, and she'd felt herself tip over, hitting the tree painfully and cursing lines of words in her mind that she couldn't even upright herself. She was stuck with her shoulder digging into the bark of the tree.
She felt someone tilt her back up, felt someone pick something out of her hair, and then ran off again without a word. She couldn't tell who it was, though... but she had a feeling she knew who it was. Why would he do that to her? Why would he help her, when she'd tried to kill his friends?
It had been a long few hours after that, unable to sense anything but the cool night breeze and soft talking from inside the house. When the first drops of rain had hit her hair she'd cursed in her mind, feeling the rain fall on her in a heavy sheet that made her feel cold and lonely. Unable to warm up, she simply endured as best she could, crying inwardly at the state of things.
But then it suddenly stopped, a soft 'Protego' hinting her at who it was. Sebastian. Why, though? Why was he protecting her from the rain? He was even drying her off with a soft towel, his touches gentle against her hardened skin.
"I truly am stupid, aren't I, a' ghrian?" He laughed bitterly. "It's like I can't do anything right." He sighed.
Well he certainly had fucked things up. Sleeping with her just to keep her from her job, and she'd been a virgin for Merlin'a sake! He'd taken that without even caring, and it made her so angry and hurt... how could she ever forget that? Especially with the gentle touches he'd made, and that ridiculously attractive smile. Ugh she hated it. She hated him. How could he do that to her? He'd used her!
"I still wonder why you threw everything away for someone who obviously doesn't care for you." He said softly.
Her father cared for her. Of course he cared for her! How could he not? He was always helping her with her studies, and helping her learn new spells. He was always so happy when she learned something new, and he'd been so proud when she'd gotten her license after all that hard work. Of course he loved her! She was his only child, he just wanted what was best for her... and what was best was to be an auror.
She had recoiled when she heard Damien's voice suddenly, the werewolf settling nearby to talk.
They didn't think she could hear them... so it felt a bit like eavesdropping. She could hardly help it when they spoke right next to her, though!
But then Damien delved into how Sebastian felt for her, and her insides twisted with confusion. He felt something for her? He certainly hadn't acted like it... not to mention the way they had left each other. The way he described her, though. No one had ever described her like that. Raised by her father to be an auror? He thought she was pretty, fun, spirited, spirited and he mentioned her art again...
