~~Damien/Ronan~~

Damien made sure Marie was as safe inside the house, the auror hidden behind the tree in the backyard in case anyone saw her. That would be some very uncomfortable questions if someone from in town saw her.

He made his way to follow Sebastian, able to follow him by the unique scent the wolf bite had given him. A hunt of forest and musk. Similar to him, but not nearly as potent, mixed in the the signature burning wood and leather scent Sebastian had.

Maybe he left. Ronan said hopefully.

"You're going to talk to him." Damien said firmly, insisting on it.

Ronan let out an agonized frown of frustration from within him, sulking unhappily.

But first he needed to talk about the auror. Because he was pretty sure Sebastian had developed feelings for her. In the heat of the fight it had been hard to think with him holding Marie and Ari protectively so neither of them would accidentally look at the basilisk, but now that it was over and he was able to think through what he'd heard, it was fairly obvious.

That opened a whole new set of troubles for them. Particularly Ominis, considering he'd just petrified the one woman Sebastian had ever been interested in. For good reason obviously, but still.

He followed the scent into the forbidden forest, his steps crunching leaves to let Sebastian know he was here, not bothering to be stealthy.

"Go away, Damien. I'm not in the mood." Sebastian said from a tree branch above him as approached. One of his legs was dangling down lazily as he looked off into the distance of the rest of the forest.

"We need to talk." Damien insisted, looking up at him.

"I don't want to talk. Just go." Sebastian growled down at him.

"You fell for her didn't you?" Damien said bluntly.

Sebastian stared down at him with wide eyes before he glared at him angrily, but didn't deny it.

"I thought so." Damien sighed in dismay.

"Well don't sound so happy for me." Sebastian said bitterly.

"Sebastian, she was trying to kill me." Damien said in frustration.

"She didn't know better. She's..." Sebastian sighed softly. "It's what she was raised to be."

"Raised to be?" Damien said in confusion at the wording.

"Nevermind... it doesn't matter now." Sebastian said quietly, moving one of his legs closer to his chest for comfort. "I still can't believe she did all that just to keep her damn license." He muttered.

"Her license?" Damien asked in confusion.

"It's why she was so desperate. She had to complete her mission from the Ministry in order to keep her license. So she'll definitely lose her license now. Not that it fucking matters." He muttered. "I don't know why I care so much. I really shouldn't." He growled angrily at himself.

"You care because you care about her." Damien sighed. Sebastian was so inexperienced with this kind of thing.

"Doesn't matter anymore." Sebastian muttered miserably.

Damien sighed and leapt upwards, using Ronan's strength to grab onto a branch and climb up to the one next to Sebastian's, sitting in it with a sigh.

"I told you it was a bad idea. Playing with hearts is worse than playing with fire. The burn is worse when it goes badly, too." Damien said gently.

And hurts longer. Ronan added.

And how would a year old wolf know about broken hearts? He wondered.
