~~Sebastian~~

Sebastian was cooking a new recipe he'd found, an American cookbook intriguing him for something for lunch. He'd never tried macaroni, nonetheless pairing noodles with cheese like this, but it was interesting. Cheap too, not that Ominis cared about that. The man needed a bit of poor man's food, though. He'd only ever had rich delicacies and recipes his whole life.

What he found very amusing was how much Ominis enjoyed food from 'poor' recipes more than his normal fare. The man had good taste, at least.

He looked up when a small tapping came to the window, his eyes widening at the sight of a tiny owl staring at him from outside. He dropped the spoon in the pot carelessly and darted forward to open the window, letting in the familiar little owl. It fluttered down to the counter beside the stove and set down the large letter it held, before flying up to his head and nestling in his hair.

"Wha-" Sebastian was surprised by the sudden perch of the owl on his head, but shrugged it off as he grabbed the letter.

Veela.

His heart pounded in anticipation as he tore open the letter, unfurling the paper to read it.

Sebastian,

I'm sorry I haven't written in the last few days, but it's been a difficult time. You were right about my father. I found the key you left me, and I can't express how thankful I am for your help. You really saved me in a terrible situation.

He let out a long breath, glad that he'd been able to help her even from a distance.

I'm in Feldcroft now, but the blood bane potion really tore me apart. I've been feeling terrible for the last few days, and now my father is hounding me to come home for some reason.

Sebastian glanced over toward the doorway, knowing what had happened with him here. They'd destroyed his reputation, but he did't know why he'd want Veela back after that. Maybe he thought she could somehow fix it? Or he didn't want to look even worse by his only child turning away from him. Compounded with the accusation Ariadne had put on him, it wouldn't look good at all.

He was far more concerned about that damn potion, though. How had she been feeling terrible? Was she ill enough to need his help? Was she fine on her own? Would she even want him to help her? He was desperate for answers.

I got your present.

Sebastian felt a breath catch in his throat.

Thank you so much for such a thoughtful gift. I'm planning on spending the afternoon relaxing and drawing with them. While I was on the way to Feldcroft Augustus stopped me and had me draw his owl. He was so impressed he offered me a job! He wants me to draw outfits for a catalogue for his shop. Can you believe that?

Sebastian smiled, glad that she had so quickly found something she could do to feel better about losing her Auror job. He could definitely believe it though, her drawings were rather impressive.

He looked up as he heard footsteps and saw Damien walking by, darting forward to grab his arm. Damien let out a sound of shock before he was all but dragged into the kitchen, planted in front of the stove.

"Stir that. Please. I don't want it to burn." Sebastian said urgently before turning back to the letter in his hand.

Damien rose a brow before he saw the little owl on his head and grinned wryly. "Oui." He said, starting to stir the cheesy noodles with interest, sneaking a few bites as well.

I hope you and the others are alright. I hope what my father put you through wasn't too much trouble. He can be... difficult.

Yeah he could. He was starting to really not like the guy.
