Chapter 48~Life Support and Losing A Brother..

Doctors rushed to Zoe who was on a bed, being wheeled straight to emergency, blood kept gushing out of her chest, she was unconscious but alive, for now.
They went through doors where they stopped Adam from going with them.

"Sir, you need to wait here." A nurse spoke, following other doctors. Adam shook with fear. He didn't want to lose Zoe again...

"Adam, sit, it will be awhile" Neil spoke softly. He turned around.

"Don't you dare talk to me." Adam snapped. "Don't you dare."

"Don't be so childish, Adam." Neil rolled his eyes.
Adam grabbed him by his collar, slamming him against the wall. Eber and Monte stood up, Neil put his hand up, stopping them from getting Adam off.

"This is your fault. I don't care if you and Zoe are together but I do care when she gets hurt this fucking bad!" Adam scowls. "If she dies, I will NEVER forgive you." Adam let Neil go, walking outside to get some air.

He pulled out a smoke and lit it, inhaling the nicotine and blowing it back out. The events happened so quick at Neil's... Zoe pushed the knife into her chest, she didn't even hesitate for a second, the blood ran out slow at first, but when she collapsed, it wouldn't stop. Adam had blood on his white formal shirt and on his hands. Adam shook once again... Stepping on his smoke, he let out a sigh and headed back inside.

~1 hour~

"Mr Lambert?" A doctor spoke, Adam stood, accidentally waking Tommy who was alseep on his shoulder.

"Is she okay?" Adam asked, desperation in his words. The doctor gave a grim look.

"She has damaged part of her heart, there's some internal bleeding that we are unable to reach without damaging her heart anymore. We have put her on life support, hoping her body will heal naturally but there's a slim chance." Tears rushed from Adam's eyes.

"What does that mean for Zoe?" Tommy asked. The doctor didn't seem to respond quick. He let out a sigh.

"There isn't much chance of her surviving. Even if we do anything, her body won't handle surgery.."

Adam stayed silent... He seemed to be lost in his thoughts...

"Can we see her?" Hayley asked. Ashley was at Monte's parents'.

"Of course, I'll take you to her..."

Adam followed the doctor, Tommy held his hands, Adam looked down at them.

"Baby, we will get through this." Tommy spoke. Adam didn't seem sure... Was he giving up already? 

As they walked into the room, Zoe was attached to several big machines... The same machines Adam's Mom was on before her death.

"I will let you have some privacy." The doctor spoke, shutting the door behind him as he left.

Adam walked to Zoe's side, stroking her cheek, it was nothing more than skin and bone... It was once chubby...

"Adam..? You're so quiet..." Eber spoke softly.
Adam's jaw clenched together.

"What's on your mind?" Neil asked.

"What's best for her..." Adam sighed.. "We need to do what's best for her."

"What does that mean? We'll risk the surgery?" Hayley asked, Adam looked at the group, tears sprung to his eyes and rolled softly down his cheek, he could feel the eye-liner down his face.

"What does that mean, Adam?!" Neil yelled.

"We should let her go!" Adam shouted. The room filled with a silence... Tommy covered his mouth with his hand. Did he just hear those words from his husband? His husband who never gives up on anyone.
