Now that French is over, it's time for lunch. I've told Mr. Ross that I would come in during lunch to do my healing serum, so I go back to the science classroom, which is like my second home.
That room brings back so many memories. I remember when I was way too overwhelmed by Clarissa and her friends bullying me all the time, I came in here, ate lunch with Mr. Ross, and was comforted when he sparked up a conversation about science.
Or the time when Mom forgot to sign the permission slip for the school trip and I went to his room for pretty much the whole day.
Or the month after mom died, and he offered me to come into his room on my first lunch back.
Or times like now, when I have to finish work.
I push open the door and can feel the possibility in the air. I shiver with excitement. I'm creating something to help the world. I'm finally doing it! It's been my dream to become a professional scientist and create something to help the world!
Well, minus the scientist part, but you get the idea.
"Hi, Mr. Ross!" I say brightly. He looks up from getting about 3 plastic bags from the cabinet, probably filled with the necessary tools and ingredients for my healing serum.
"Hello, Aurora! Ready to create an invention that will change the world?"
"Yep." I say.

5 minutes later, I have my safety goggles on, lab coat in my hand, and rubber gloves just waiting to get onto my fingers on the table. I carefully put my arms through the correct holes, snap the gloves on, and I'm ready.
"Ready, Aurora?" Mr. Ross says.
"Ready!" I say.
"Then let's get started!" Mr. Ross also has a lab coat, gloves, and goggles on.
I open the bag and find ingredients labeled "articual phosphate" "odoristic finalment" and "biotical sugar powder".
Just what I need! Perfect! I go over the instructions I practically burned into my mind in about 2 seconds.
I have a good memory! What can I say?
First, mix the articual phosphate with water. Then, add chemical salts to it, and mix. Finally, put in 4 drops of odoristic finalment and 2 grams of biotical sugar powder. Mix and strain. Heat.
The drinker gets cured if he/she drinks it every day for 5 days.
Hopefully.
I do the instructions, which takes me about a half an hour, and put it above the Benson burner, which I'll come back to in 10 minutes.
I have my fingers crossed that it works.
Hopefully it doesn't explode in my face.
