My eyelids flutter open, and my head's throbbing has died down.
I discover that I'm in the nurses office, on the examination bed. Lights are shining on me, and I squint.
"Hello?" I say in a weak voice.
I've just realized that the distant buzzing is back.
Wait. I remember now! Why I fainted!
I discovered that I have powers!
My body tenses up, ready to go into faint mode again. I turn it off.
So, I can hear other people's thoughts, and I have X-Ray vision.
Awesome!
But how?
Duh! The healing serum must've done it!
Did I add the wrong ingredient? What did I do to make this happen?
Anyway, this is close to impossible.
In fact, it's scientifically impossible.
Is this a dream? I pinch myself to make sure.
Nope. It's real.
I fight the urge to scream out loud.
