I receive a message on my phone today at lunch, and I look to see who it is.
HELLO. It says. I HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS, REECE AND TEMPEST. MEET ME AND 2 OTHERS IN THE OLD LIBRARY AFTER SCHOOL TODAY. WE ARE NOT A THREAT. WE WANT TO HELP YOU.
Huh? I look to see who it is. No contact. How did whoever this is even get my number? How are they even following us?
Well, it says they aren't a threat and they want to help us.
Why not? We can defend ourselves if they turn out to be bad. We have super powers.
Plus, this is school. No one's really that dangerous in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade.
So, I tell Tempest and Reece about the message, read it to them, and tell them what I think.
"Sure," Reece says.
"I don't know.. How are they following us? Did you think about that?" Tempest says.
"Come on, Tempest," I say. "These can be new members of the team, or even new enemies for us to defeat. Plus, this is school. How dangerous can a 6th, 7th, or 8th grader get?"
"Oh, fine," Tempest says.
So, we went to the old library after school today.
When we arrive, I take a deep breath as I open the door to the old library.
Hopefully they like us. Join us, even.
I open the door. We walk in.
