Humans.
How would you describe them?
They were always... Arrogant, incessant, greedy, destructive, loud, stupid.
But, they tended to do good things now and again. The creation of music, good foods, marvelous reads, clothing, and sometimes architecture.
If only they could focus on being better living beings.
But, they always disappoint you.
They destroy the world that they need to survive. They kill every other species on the planet to near or complete extinction.
Hell, they were exterminating themselves too for the most ridiculous of reasons! Yet somehow, they were also overpopulating. You didn't understand it at all.
And the sheer audacity and complete avaricious minds you had to deal with when you'd venture into a city! Feeling their jealousy, their lust, and every other thing you despised about them always hit you, but not as much as their actual and absolutely disgusting disregard for personal space!
You'd spend less than two hours in the closest city to find things that tickled your fancy, that mostly being some tea varieties, new books, and music updates. Clothes and soaps too, of course.
You'd also catch up on the newest problems of the world, if you had the time to.
Getting caught in-between chaotic and unexplainable forces of not nature was always something that confused you. These weren't ever natural occurrences, they were things that you knew were on the level of interfering kais. For what though, you never knew.
You could hide your chi very well, so much so that you'd go decades without being detected by something powerful. But when you were discovered, it was usually some mortal that happened upon you out in the woods. You'd just disappear most of the time, but when those humans were naive and disrespectful towards you and your territory, you'd kill them without a second thought.
Of course, you'd lay low for a good while considering humans could be highly persistent, but you'd never hide forever.
One particular day, you felt like checking for an update in books to add to your collection.
Dressing in simple casual clothing, you do your usual thing of putting on headphones attached to a music player and then floating up into the air to choose a destination city. Your eyebrow quirks up as you notice a rather odd looking mass of clouds over the city nearby, even though you're a good sixty miles away.
Looking back down, you take pride in your home that's been built into the ecosystem. To the naked eye of mortals, your home could be mistaken for an untouchable and dangerous cavern covered in moss and lovely honeysuckles growing on thick vines. They would never get past the mouth of the cave and see the true home within.
"Another problem that's been created, I see." You mumble quietly, shaking your head and pressing play on your music. Tucking your music player safely into your breast pocket, you charge your chi up just enough to glide through the clear air.
You take in the beauty of the forest you reside in from above for as long as you can, which doesn't last long in the slightest.
You feel massive chi energy coming from the city, a frown lining your lips.
The closer you also get, the more you realize that this cloud isn't natural. In fact, it seems to have been festering there for a long while, made of smoke and dirt and thick chemicals.
Peering closer as you slow to the outside of the city limits, your mouth falls agape. There wasn't a real city left to even be called that! How long ago did this happen?!
