Is it A Repeat, or the New Way?

It had been a few weeks since the incident with Vegeta and Broly. You and Zamasu had returned back to Universe 10 with your children for the time being, considering that everyone's lives were getting back to being busy as Autumn rolled around.

However, since your return, Zamasu's old attitude had festered back enough that you and Gowasu were concerned, but you felt as if this was your fault more than anyone else's. Kusu had taken it upon herself to babysit the twins, doing you a favor as she also wanted time to watch her favorite niece and nephew.

She had taken them to Beerus's planet as well so Whis could also have time with the younglings, which you and Zamasu allowed.

This left you alone with your Kai, as he stands near the giant tree with only one look on his face that you could read. Gowasu was inside, not intervening as you had asked of him.

You observe Zamasu from the table, his mind consumed by a darkness that sends shivers down your spine. His desire to eradicate mortal life, driven by a fear of harm befalling you and your children, weighs heavily on his conscience. As you cautiously approach him, your hand gently resting on his arm, his intense gaze meets yours, causing your heart to race with trepidation.

The intensity of his conviction is palpable, and it fills you with a sense of foreboding. You gather your courage, knowing that you must try to reason with him, to prevent the catastrophic consequences that his thoughts may bring.

"Zamasu, I understand your concerns, and I appreciate your desire to protect us. But resorting to violence and destruction is not the answer. We cannot let fear dictate our actions," you implore, your voice filled with a mix of concern and determination.

His eyes narrow, the fire within them flickering with defiance. "If I do not act, if I fail to shield you and our children, the consequences will be dire. I refuse to let these sinful mortals exploit and harm you. I will eliminate them."

Your heart sinks, torn between your love for him and the knowledge that his path leads to darkness. "Zamasu, there must be another way. We can find a solution that doesn't involve causing harm to innocent lives. Let us seek justice, not vengeance."

His gaze softens, a flicker of doubt crossing his face. The internal struggle within him is evident, and you hold onto the hope that reason will prevail. "I... I will consider your words. But know that my love for you and our children drives me to protect you at any cost."

You nod, grateful that he is willing to listen. You move your hand up from his arm to his cheek softly so that he focuses on you. "I love you, Zamasu. Your heart is as pure as always, but I want you to try and figure out a different way that won't cause a repetitive loop." You say, having a stern tone in your words.

Zamasu gently sighs, placing a kiss against the open palm of your hand before closing his eyes. "I apologize, my rose."

You move closer to him, leaning up and placing a soft kiss on his lips. "Let's go and take a relaxing bath together for now. Then, perhaps another massage to help you relax. I want my adorable Kai to be in a tranquil calm." Zamasu's cheeks reddened before he huffed softly, gently pulling you against him by your hips. "Adorable, you say that so easily. I am much more than that." You giggle, relaxing at his tone before you're closing your eyes when his lips softly press against yours.

For now, the theoretical crisis is averted.

Or, so you thought.

As you peacefully slumber with G/N and B/N back with you and sleeping in bed with you, unaware of the turmoil brewing within Zamasu, his mind remains wide awake, haunted by a nightmare that intensifies his fear for your safety.
