This is How it Ends

It had been almost an entire day since you last laid eyes on Black. Ever since he uttered those painful words about Zamasu not truly loving you as deeply as he claimed, you couldn't shake off the lingering doubt. Zamasu, using his duties as supreme Kai as an excuse, had been avoiding you. Deep down, you knew you shouldn't let Black's heartbreak influence your thoughts, but it persisted nonetheless.

Black was more than just Zamasu to you. He was the original, the first, in more ways than one. With a heavy sigh, you wandered aimlessly through your secluded world. With your three children off visiting loved ones in universe seven, you found yourself alone. Well, not entirely. Even though Black had physically left, you knew he hadn't strayed too far. It was only with you that he played this game.

Closing your eyes, you took a moment to center yourself and reach out with your senses.

Within moments, you detected Black's energy, almost as if he hadn't bothered to conceal it. Utilizing instant transmission, you materialized at the location where his energy had been, only to find him absent. Undeterred, you tried again, assuming he had moved simultaneously with you. Yet, once more, the instant you arrived, he had vanished.

Persistently, you continued your search, realizing that your secluded world was not as expansive as Earth, perhaps comparable to the size of Mars. It didn't take long for you to grasp, with a faint smile, that Black was intentionally playing a game of hide and seek with you. He was either leading you to a specific destination or simply teasing you. Determined, you made every effort to reach him before he could disappear once more. After nearly half an hour of pursuit, you finally succeeded.

Black stood atop a small mountain adorned with vibrant wildflowers and peculiar pink strawberries, his arms crossed as he surveyed the flourishing utopia before him.

Black remains facing forward, his spiky black hair swaying in the breeze while maintaining its impeccable style. You step closer, positioning yourself beside him, and together, you gaze out over your world with a sense of affection. In this realm, where only your family, including Black, exists, there is nothing but tranquility. Even the creatures that inhabit this place, the animals, live harmoniously, following the natural order of things.

Your eyes shift upward, meeting Black's intense onyx gaze, which holds a mixture of tenderness and sorrow. There is much that needs to be said between the two of you, but for now, the whispers of the gentle wind suffice as a form of communication. In a rare moment, you create a large flower upon which you both can comfortably sit, and Black instinctively joins you. Side by side, you simply revel in the serenity of each other's presence.

Black's gaze lingers on you once again, captivated by the serenity and beauty that radiates from you, not just as a goddess, but as the woman he had fallen deeply in love with. The realization that it had been over a decade since your paths were disrupted by Zen-Oh's intervention hits him, and yet, it feels as though time has flown by. Throughout those years, he had been trapped within the confines of his counterpart's mental prison.

The cruelty and injustice of it all weigh heavily on Black's heart. Nothing could justify the hardships you had endured, especially considering the immense sacrifices you had made. You had breathed life into countless beings, nurtured them, and yet, what had you received in return? A lifetime of duty. Black couldn't help but clench his fists, flexing his fingers momentarily, as he gazes back out at the horizon.

You had given so much, grown so much, for the sake of everyone, including that Zamasu. Children, planets, the entire universe benefited from your selflessness. It was a testament to your love for your family. And Black knew, deep down, that you would never regret it. You would never wish to change a single thing. But if he had the power to alter the past, he would never allow you to endure such hardships.
