On the way back to her room, Catalina was stopped by Gin for a chat. He noticed her reactions to Chef Shinomiya's dish and wanted to hear her honest thoughts. Curious, Catalina replied that while the dish was undeniably delicious and she could understand why Shinomiya had earned his nickname, she felt like something was missing.

Gin, intrigued by her response, flashed a mischievous smile. "Ah, I see," he said, rubbing his chin. "You have a discerning palate, Catalina. Come, let's find a more relaxed spot to chat."

He led her to a secluded area near the resort's hot springs. The warm, steamy air enveloped them as they found a comfortable spot to sit. Gin poured them both a cup of tea, and they began their conversation.

As they sipped their tea, Gin shared stories of his own culinary journey, reminiscing about the countless encounters he had with talented chefs and unique flavors. Catalina listened intently, her eyes shining with excitement.

Feeling a camaraderie with Gin, Catalina couldn't help but ask about his most memorable food experiences. Gin chuckled and, after a brief pause, began to recount a particularly amusing tale from his younger days.

He shared a story of a time when he and his old best friend, Jouichirou Yukihira, found themselves in a small town known for its eccentric food traditions. They stumbled upon a local festival where participants were challenged to eat a series of bizarre dishes. The dishes ranged from spicy eel ice cream to fermented squid sashimi.

As Gin narrated the story, Catalina couldn't contain her laughter. She found herself captivated by Gin's animated storytelling and infectious enthusiasm. The two of them shared a bond over their shared love for culinary adventures and the willingness to explore beyond the traditional. After exchanging more stories and laughter, Gin turned serious for a moment.

He looked at Catalina with a kind gaze and said, "You have a unique perspective, Catalina. Don't be afraid to embrace it. Your experiences from traveling and tasting different cuisines will shape your own culinary style. Just remember to rely on your friends and have fun along the way. It's all part of the journey."

Catalina nodded, feeling a renewed sense of purpose and inspiration. She thanked Gin for his advice and the enjoyable conversation. As they stood up and prepared to part ways, Gin patted her on the shoulder.

"Keep pushing the boundaries, Catalina. I can't wait to see what culinary wonders you'll create. And don't forget to enjoy being a kid in the kitchen too!" he said with a playful wink.

With a grateful smile, Catalina bid Gin farewell, feeling a newfound connection and a sense of excitement for her culinary future. As she walked back to her room, she couldn't help but reflect on the valuable advice she had received and the unexpected bond she had formed with the legendary chef Gin Dojima.
