Sunwoo's lips slightly parted upon seeing the mountain of crumpled tissues on the table they occupied.
Time surely flew so fast that he himself had not noticed the amount of waste Haknyeon had done.
"You okay?" he asked, the other guy nodded after blowing off his nose.
"You know, I'll take back the part which I said school romance is cliche", he contributed another waste of tissue paper onto the mountain he made. "Your story tore me apart".
Sunwoo stayed silent, crossing his arms as he leaned comfortably against the chair. Even an outsider like Haknyeon felt that way, just imagined how he felt then.
Probably more shattered.
"What happened next?" Haknyeon found himself invested as he leaned across the table.
At that, Sunwoo sighed, glancing over the menu of drinks hung on the wall of the cafe. They were all coffees - something Haeun once wrote as her wish list in her journal.
"She... managed to pass the critical period but still unconscious. So I stayed with her", he heard Haknyeon gasped, as if he could feel the tightness of the situation that time. "And it was a miracle that suddenly she got a donor".
"She's alive?! Thank god", Haknyeon yelled with excitement, earning some looks from other customers but not Sunwoo.
He was in a deep thought, his gaze fixated at the counter where a customer was placing an order. As usual, the server would be flashing a friendly smile with some hopes that they could secure the customer as a regular.
"She's more brighter these days. She got to do every single things she'd planned and I managed to unveil some sides of her that were unseen when she was sick".
"Like what?" Haknyeon asked.
Sunwoo was so engrossed in the environment of the cafe, he chuckled as he noticed the server behind the counter had spilled some coffee powder whilst she prepared the order.
"She's clumsy".
Sunwoo probably did not notice but Haknyeon was squinting his eyes at him. It was as if he was studying Sunwoo.
"You....must be kidding me", Haknyeon said, the corner of his lip twitched.
"W-What?" that was when Sunwoo met Haknyeon's eyes that were flaring.
The latter pushed his chair backward before he rose up, the screech luckily not very loud that would have attracted more people watching him.
Haknyeon pondered in frustration, poking his tongue through his inner cheek. He definitely had something to say but nothing had found its way out from his mouth.
So, he turned around, scaring the inside of Sunwoo.
Some people said it was concerning if someone suddenly acting differently from their usual self.
"W-Where are you going?" Sunwoo jolted up as well, trailing behind Haknyeon who was walking towards the counter.
Maybe he wanted more coffees?
"Excuse me Ms.Kim... no.." Haknyeon shut his eyes closed, his brows scrunching as if he was recalling something. "Kim Haeun?"
The server pondered in confusion, her eyes furiously blinked as she looked at him. For all these times she had been serving him, never once Haknyeon had called her full name.
"Do you need anything?" Haeun asked with the sweet smile Sunwoo had been telling of.
She flinched when Haknyeon suddenly gasped, covering his open mouth with his palm. Instinctively, she flickered her gaze to the demeanour behind Haknyeon who was startled as well.
