Song of the Chapter: Cannonball - Damien Rice.

The morning of the scan came by quick. I lied to Grandma and Jeff. I told them I would be going out with Ashton and Emily because 'I wanted to show Emily the town'. The last thing I needed to deal with was that. I needed to get this done today so I knew everything was okay and I could finally break the news. I didn't tell Brad because I wanted to surprise him with the scan photo. Ana knew as did Cassie and they were hyped to see the scan. It was beginning to feel real. The baby, the secrets, it's becoming reality to me now.

Around midday, when Ashton turned up Emily was first in the car. She was way overexcited for this scan. After a while, Ashton believed Emily should be there and he even agreed that she could be an option for godparents. His thinking was way ahead of mine. Getting in the car, I noticed Ashton had borrowed Luke's car. I assumed this was since Emily wouldn't fit in his truck, unless she sat at the back of it. Which would be awkward.

After a talkative car drive, I realised that I didn't know as much as I thought about Ashton and Emily. They were both secretive about things like their love for animals or their love for newspapers. Since when did Ashton Irwin read a newspaper? Since now, apparently. Ashton and Emily seemed to be getting on great and that was the best start to the day. Once we got to the hospital, we parked up and got out. Ashton lead the way towards the hospital and through the hospital. It was like he had already done his research. He didn't have to read any signs or be directed. He knew exactly where to go. Emily was looking everywhere trying to figure everything out. It was like she had never been in a hospital before.

"Imagine if its a girl, you could call it Emily." Emily clapped and I heard Ashton laugh.

"It's going to be a boy. I'm sure." Ashton turned and winked.

"Ashton, you do realise I won't find out the gender yet." I laughed and Ashton turned a corner. I noticed the sign and straight way knew we were here.

"You mean, we aren't finding out today?" Ashton looked at me and Emily. I shook my head and he groaned. "That's so annoying."

"Next scan I believe. I don't really know." I walked to the reception and the woman looked at me and Ashton. I could immediately feel judged. Her eyes scanned over me and I sighed. Ashton held the small of my back, whilst Emily waited behind.

"Name?" She looks at her clipboard and I looked up to Ashton, who smiled.

"Brooklyn Montez and the father Ashton Irwin." I answered. Ashton's smile grew. The woman rolled her eyes and gestured us off towards the waiting area. Ashton walked off with Emily and I looked at the woman once more.

"You know before you judge me for having a baby, realise your job is to make people feel safe and loved in a caring environment and you're failing miserably. 'Good morning miss' or 'is it okay to take your name' would do nicely. Now, please, do have a great day." I glared at her and she seemed very shocked. I stormed off to where Ashton and Emily were sitting and sat beside Ashton. She had frustrated me so much that I couldn't even speak.

"You know she was probably just jealous." Ashton spoke up and Emily nodded. I raised an eyebrow and looked at him.

"For what reason?" I leaned on the chair arm and looked at him. He shrugged, flicking through a magazine that he had previously picked up.

"You know, her boyfriend... He isn't as drop dead gorgeous as me." Ashton joked and Emily rolled her eyes. I did also.

"That was not what I was thinking." Emily chuckled and Ashton shrugged it off. I looked at the magazine he was holding. I looked at the cover. Kendall Jenner.
