Chapter 3

                         {Season 1 episode 3}

As Sylvia drove herself and Miguel home she couldn't help but question what Daniel LaRusso meant back at the dojo. Miguel felt the same. "Do you know who that guys is?" Miguel asks Sylvia.

"It's Daniel LaRusso. The guy who owns the biggest car dealership in the valley." Sylvia answers. As confused as they were Sylvia and Miguel brushed it off.

"Do you wanna come have dinner with us?" Miguel asked. "Sure, But I have to make sure my sister and mom eats dinner."

"Done worry about it. I'll just tell my yaya to make extra." He says. "Thank you" Sylvia smiles.

Miguel opened the door to his apartment and walked in. "Hey yaya Sylvia is here!" Miguel yelled out. They saw her come out of her bedroom and went to hug Sylvia and Miguel. "Is it cool if you cook more for her family too?" Miguel said to his grandma. "¡por supuesto que es! esta es tu nueva novia?" (Of course it is! Is this your new girlfriend?) Sylvia looked at Miguel to see if he could translate. "No she isn't yaya!" Miguel said and he started walking to his room, Sylvia followed. They got inside and Sylvia put her stuff down and twirled down onto his bed. Miguel set his stuff down and turned on some music and started practicing punches.

"Damn Miguel we just left the dojo!" Sylvia calls out surprised as he has so much energy. She took her jacket off and joined him punching the air. It was a good 10 minutes of punching until Sylvia gave up and plopped back down on the bed. "How are you so energetic???" She asked while gasping for air. She thought she heard knocking on the door but she couldn't really tell because the of the music.

Sylvia turned down the music a bit to see if she was right and she was. Miguel's grandma was calling for them to eat dinner. "Oh, I'll be right there I'm almost finished" Miguel answers. They both walked out after a few seconds sweaty and sat at the dinner table and started eating. Miguel's mom then walked in. "Hey guys. Hey Sylvia" she said smiling to her. "Hi Mrs Diaz" Sylvia returned the smile. "Mm, it smells good in here."

"Hice pollo en salsa de chile." (I made chicken in chili sauce) Miguel's grandma said. "gracias mamá" Miguel's mom thanked and then bent down to kiss Miguel on the side of his head. "Im sorry im late again." She said and then brushed my shoulder. "Things are crazy at the hospital."

"It's ok you're short staffed." Miguel shrugged his shoulders. "But we saved you some food" he adds. "So, did you two decide what you're going as for the Halloween dance?" His mom asked us.

"Yeah I'm gonna be black widow. I found this amazing costume online and I bought using my savings." Sylvia says while eating. "That's cool I used to love black widow when I was younger! What about you Miguel?" His mom asked. "Well, I was thinking Deadpool, but the costumes a little pricey" Miguel said. "Well, how much is it?" His mom asked. "Oh, it doesn't have to be deadpool." Miguel said quickly.

"You want a deadpool costume? We'll make you a deadpool costume." His mom said. I smiled at how much his mom cared about Miguel. His grandma sarcastically chuckled and the said "No. This isn't a sweatshop" In Spanish. "Oh, Miggy!" His mom calls out. "What happened to your hand?" His mom asks. Sylvia's eyes widened knowing his mom didn't know he was doing karate. "Uhm.." Miguel stutters looking at Sylvia. "You don't wanna know. " his grandma said in Spanish. Sylvia looked to Miguel confused cause she doesn't know Spanish. He was just staring at her shocked. "What?"

School went by very fast it was the same as yesterday. They met up after school and Sylvia drove to the dojo. She opened the door. Hearing the bell jingle. "hey sensei" they both say as they took their shoes off and walked onto the mat. "Alright today we will practice more punching. Diaz use the dummy. Stokes use the punching bag" Sensei said. Sylvia and Miguel walked towards the corner of the room and Sylvia offered Miguel an AirPod and said he could pick the music. He chose a heavy metal song which didn't really bother her.
