Chapter 25

{season 3 episode 5}

Miguel got released from the hospital with both his legs not working. Sensei truly believed he could fix it. Sylvia came back from work and saw sensei and Miguel grilling something. "Hey what's going on?" She asks. He went on a rant about the "China people"

"Know what that wise man's name was?" He asked.

"Hibachi?"

"Damn straight"

"yeah except that hibachis are from Japan, not China, where there werent a lot of dairy farmers, historically, or hammocks. You think I'd fall for that?" Miguel asks. "No but I knew you'd be too busy calling my bullshit to know what I was up to." Sensei replied.

"Oh yeah? What's that"

"lighting a fire under you." Sensei replied holding up the lighter and gasoline. "What?" Sylvia mutters, looking up from her phone and saw Miguel's shoelace on fire. "What did you do?" Miguel asked and looked down "What did you do" he asked louder. Sensei held him in a head lock position.

"Ok well that's a little excessive dont you think" Sylvia quickly says jogging over to grab the fire extinguisher. "Are you insane?" Miguel yelled. "Depends on who you ask. Come on, Diaz! Shake a leg." Sensei replied. "Don't spray it Sylvia" sensei sternly says to her. "Ok" Sylvia mumbled and pointed it at his shoe waiting.

"Shake a leg." Sensei repeats. "I can't" Miguel replied. Sylvia scrunched her face as the fire spread more. "You can if you want it bad enough" sensei said. "It's all that I want!" Miguel yelled. "Then focus! Tell your brain to tell your legs to get their asses moving!" Sensei yelled.

Well that didn't work and the fire went up to his leg. "Oh, shit. Spray it Sylvia" he cursed. Sylvia sprayed the fire extinguisher for a second and the fire stopped. "I really thought that would work." Sensei scoffs. "Why didn't it? My foot was on fire and I didn't feel a thing. Why is nothing working?" Miguel sighs. "It's fine. I should probably clean up before my mom gets home." Miguel defeatedly groans.

Sylvia helped sensei clean the hibachi up. She went with him to his apartment. "Come here" sensei says waving her over. Sylvia went over and sat down next to him. He searched up "how to make legs work again" Sylvia reads. "Really?" She asks.

He clicked on this website. Sylvia heard someone that sounds like Miguel's mom crying outside. They both walked to the window and opened it slightly. They saw Carmen crying against a pole. Johnny walked out and Sylvia went back to the computer. These websites really are shit. Johnny came back with Miguel. "Come on Sylvia" sensei gestured her outside.

They got out the car at a sketchy building. They walked into the back and through a creepy long hallway with big buff security people. "And I thought this place locked scary from the outside. Where are we sensei?" Miguel mutters. "It's a field trip" sensei answered. "Can I leave this field trip?" Sylvia replies. "Here take this and follow my lead." Sensei says giving Miguel a duffel bag.

They turned a corner going into a double door but they security guy stopped them. "Hold on. Nice try. Come back when their 21." The guy said. "Yeah that's gonna be tough. They'll be dead by then" sensei replies. Sylvia nodded her head. "They should be dead already. Everyday is a gift." Sensei says.

Miguel did a weak fake cough. "They got this bucket list. Getting past that door is number one on it." Sensei said putting up a finger. "Alright. But she looks completely fine" they guy narrows his eyes and pointed at Sylvia. "Uh, no I'm not fine I have venoralysis." Sylvia stutters and stared at him. He looked at her confused.

"I-it's when this black goo that crawls up to your brain and goes inside. Once it has control over your brain it melts all the organs inside my body like chocolate in the sun" Sylvia taunts and smiles. "Go ahead" he mumbled and looked down. "Hey good luck kids. Especially you" he raised his eyebrows and pointed at Sylvia. They walked through the door to see a rock concert with smoke and red lights. "Is that real?" Sensei asked Sylvia. "No I made it up" she answers and continued walking. There was this long haired blondie that sensei told them is called Dee Snider. Sensei gave us a beer.

Sylvia thought it was a good concert except for the time these girls where staring at Miguel. "Ew." She mumbled and fake gagged. Sylvia hit sensei's shoulder and pointed to Miguel's foot that was tapping to the beat of the music. He then tapped Miguel and pointed to his foot.

When they got home Miguel's mom was iver the moon in excitement. "Ok I'm gonna go I got work tomorrow see you" Sylvia smiled and hugged Miguel goodbye. She opened the door and didn't see Erica on the couch. "El I'm home" she yelled out but there was no answer. She looked in her room and didn't see her so she checked the bathroom not there either.

"Hi Ms. Diaz is Eliana here?" Sylvia asked. "No she's not why? You can't find her?" Carmen worriedly asked. "No it's ok I'm gonna take a call" Sylvia sends a small smile and walked away. "Hey Tory, is El there?"

She started giggling. "Yeah, I snuck her out" Tory laughed. "Hey! When is she coming home?"

"She'll be home by 2" she answers. "Oh my god, ok I'll call you tomorrow" Sylvia said laughing and ended the call.
