Chapter 39

{Season 4 episode 9 and a little bit of 10}

"Please welcome Eagle Fang Karate, led by sensei Johnny Lawerence and defending champion Miguel Diaz!" The announcer spoke into the mic. The eagles walked out the Smokey tunnel wearing a red and black gi. They jogged around the blue mat and stood infront.

As the competition was about to start they were huddled up mostly talking about prom last night. "Eagle fangs listen up!" Johnny yelled. They got into a row infront of him. "Some of you have been here before."

Sylvia caught Robby glancing at her a couple times before they started warming up. Started with some simple front punches. "Hey Sylvia you good? You're really smiley" Miguel asks. "Yeah I'm fine" she replied.

The skills competitions started and Sylvia had to break some boards. Simple enough. At least she didn't get one of those where you fight with the air. She would definitely look weird. Robby did this great back layout step out. After a few more people stupid ass shit breath threw the staff to the judges and almost hit them. Another guy missed a board. Those two mistakes got Eagle Fang into 6th place

After a surprise singing. Everything was better than ever. But Sylvia knew she would go against Tory sooner or later.

"Point. Winner!" The ref yelled and pulled Sylvias hand up. She walked back to her side. Hawk started shaking her shoulders. "Ok ok" she smiled. "All right! Folks. We've witnessed some great fighting today. But you ain't seen nothing yet. Because we have arrived at the quarter finals! Which means things are about to get intense. Of the eight boys and eight girls on this stage, one of each will be named all valley champion. And then we'll tally all the points to determine which dojo has earned the title. Of grand champion. And since the points get higher in each round. It's still any dojos game!" The announcer chuckled

Luckily Sylvia wasn't teamed up with Tory for the semi finals. After she won semi Sylvia snuck off to go talk to Robby and Tory when they were separated from their senseis. "Hey! You guys did great" Sylvia exclaims and hugged Tory. "Hey you didn't do so bad yourself" Tory said chuckling. "Sylvia! What are you doing over there?" Sensei yelled. "Shit. Gotta go I'll see you on the mat" she smirked and ran over to my team

The first quarterfinal match was Eli against Kyler. Kyler didn't even score a point. Next match was Sylvia against Piper. "Ready, and fight!" The referee said. She was quick with it and threw a front kick but Sylvia blocked it with her arm. She could hear Sensei whining about how she didn't strike first.

After a few punches she side kicked. Sylvia held her foot in the air and punched her open stomach. "Point! One zero" the ref said. Sylvia took a breath as the ref started another round.

Piper was actually pretty good but not as good as Sylvia. "Good job" sensei said as she walked back. "Thanks" she mumbled and drank some water. The final match was Robby against Kenny. As Kenny fought Sylvia could tell Cobra Kai really changed him. The look on his face. The look on both their faces, it was really bad. At first she thought it was really not big of a deal he joined Cobra Kai but what was she thinking.

As we were waiting for the semi finals Sylvia was taking some deep breaths trying to fight off her problems and focus on winning. Miguel was the first match against Eli. "Good luck" Sylvia yells as Miguel walked onto the mat.

As Miguel was in the middle of a tornado kick. Something went wrong and it sounded like his bone cracking.

Sylvia decided to not watch the next fight and check up on Miguel. As she was walking there she heard yelling in the locker room. Sylvia ran in to see what was happening. "Hey! Kenny stop!" She yelled and pulled him off the kid. That was Anthony. He fell to the ground and Robby ran in. Sylvia crouched down next to Anthony as Robby yelled at Kenny. "Jesus Anthony" she mumbled and put a hand on his shoulder. Kenny crouched down next to Sylvia and grabbed Anthony's face. "You hear that? Get ready for high school next year because you're gonna be in a world of pain" Kenny said. Sylvia swatted his hand away before he could say anything else.

"Anthony are you okay?" Robby asked and put out a hand. "I'm fine. Just leave me alone." He yelled and ran out. Soon later they walked out. She didn't have much time to see Miguel anymore because her match was starting.

Her and Tory are in the finals. Sylvia quickly went into Miguel's room. "Hey Miguel how are you feeling?" She asked and sat next to him. "I don't know. I feel like if I don't fight I'm letting everybody down" Miguel sighs. "Well it's your choice. If you're hurt I'm sure you won't be letting anyone down."

They set a countdown clock for miguel to come back. "Dramatic much?" Sylvia mumbled. "Yeah it's the all valley" penis breath tells her. As the buzzer went off Miguel didn't come out the door and sensei went to find him.

First final match was Robby and Eli. Sylvia didn't know who she's cheering for, Eli? or Robby her new boyfriend? But Sylvia can't even pay attention to the fight, her mind is racing. She's worried about miguel, she had to fight Tory one of her best friends, the lack of sleep has really been hitting these days. And not to mention if she didn't win Eagle Fang wouldn't.

"Unbelievable these two amazing competitors have reached their three minute time limit in a one one tie!" The announcer yelled. That woke Sylvia up from her trance of thinking. Robby and Eli have a sudden death over time. They both bowed at each other and went to their senseis. Robby's gi was loose so he took off his top. Sylvias eyes widened. "When did Robby get so jacked" she thinks out loud. "Hey don't start having a crush on him now" sensei growled. Too late.

Eli won. He is the all valley champ. I mean he's always been a great fighter but now it's Sylvia's and Tory's turn. Penisbreath and some other dude was betting on her and Tory. "Can you stop betting on us you're making me nervous" Sylvia hissed. Sensei and Daniel surprisingly teamed up.

Sylvia got onto the mat. Taking in and out breaths and shaking her hands lightly. "We're still gonna be friends right?" Tory asks. "Depends on how hard you hit me" Sylvia grins. "No holding back" Tory smirked back. The match started and oh are Cobra Kai's good at striking first.

Sylvia scored the first point using a roundhouse kick. Tory the second point. Tory scored another. She hit her in the stomach and she stepped back. "No point out of bounds" the ref said. "Come on ref! She went out of bounds after she got hit!" Sylvia heard sensei yell. Sylvia backs up to her spot and took a breath.

It's 2-2 when Sylvia got a point. Next one wins. Tory was on the floor with Sylvia's leg over her. She suddenly felt a sharp pain on her left eye. "Warning elbow to the face. Go to your senseis" the ref said. "Shit, Sylvia I'm sorry it was an accident" Tory apologizes immediately and pulled her up. "No, it's ok" Sylvia replies while holding her hand under the eye. They both walked back to their senseis. "Are you alright?" LaRusso asked. "Yeah I'm ok." Sylvia sighs and tried blinking the stinging in the eye off. "Alright Stokes, get back out there and kick some ass"

"Ready fight!" The ref calls. Sylvia threw a front kick which Tory blocked with ease. She circled around Sylvia. After a lot of blocking, Tory kicked Sylvia in the stomach and she fell. Sylvia back rolled into a landing position despite the pain. "Hey. You all right?" Tory asked. Sylvia didn't have time to respond since Cobra Kai's ran up and hugged her.

Sylvia groans in frustration and pounds the mat before pushing herself up. She held a hand to her hair as she jumped down from the mat. Sylvia snatched her waterbottle and took a chug as her friends reinsured it was okay.
