{season 1 episode 10}
It's all valley day and everyone was waiting for sensei outside of the building. Miguel was still mad about what happened last night and isn't talking to anyone. "Yo calm down man, save some for the tournament" Hawk says. Miguel ignored him and kept punching. "He's not speaking right now" Sylvia sighs looking up from her phone. "Where's sensei? The tournament is gonna start soon" Hawk asked. "He'll be here" Sylvia reassures. "I don't know about that" Bert mutters.
He went on about how sensei was peeing on his car drunk and talking about how everyone is gonna die. "Why didn't you tell us this earlier?" Sylvia yells. "I don't know I guess I'm used to seeing him drunk it didn't seem like a big deal." Bert said. "Well, we're here, and he's not. So it's officially a big deal. What if something happened to him?" Hawk glared. "Like what?" Bert asked. "Maybe he drove his car off a cliff because he was drunk and then fell all the way down 200 feet and his head got smashed apart. Bert." Sylvia says looking around in disbelief.
"We're gonna have to do it without him." Hawk says. "Do what without me?" Sensei says coming up from behind them. "We didn't think you were gonna show up."
"I may not always win, but I never back out of a fight." Sensei says. "All right. Let's sign up" Miguel finally spoke. "Not yet. There's one more lesson I have to teach you" sensei adds. The tournament starts in 20 minutes and Cobra Kai was still standing in the lobby.
"You've all learned to strike first, to be aggressive, not be losers. I taught you to strike hard. Put every ounce of power behind everything you do. But I haven't taught you the third rule of Cobra Kai. "No mercy." The older you get, the more you're gonna learn that life isn't fair. You wake up one morning feeling great, and then life throws a spinning heel kick to your balls. Takes a big steaming shit in your mouth. You get an F on a test, you get suspended. You fall in love with a girl, and some other dude comes and steals her away. Car gets set on fire. Just when you think things are going good everything falls apart. That's how it goes. Life shows no mercy, so neither do we. We do whatever it takes to keep our heads above the water we do whatever it takes to keep moving forward. We do whatever it takes to win! Remember who you are. You're badass. You don't give a shit. You kick ass. You're Cobra Kai."
"Cobra Kai!"

They all got into a black gi. similar to Sylvia's.
"Cobra Kai, Cobra Kai, Cobra Kai" They changed, jogged out to the mat. They stopped and stood in stance. Sylvia glanced over and saw Sam staring at her and Miguel. She brushed it off and looked up at the guy. "And finally fighting unaffiliated from North Hills, Robby Keene" the guy said. Sylvia looked over and saw Robby right infront of them, standing next to these red people.
Everything was good we all passed the first round. Bert didn't but that was predictable. Few minutes later Miguel, Robby, Sylvia and a guy with a blue gi were left. "There can only be one true winner. And he or she is standing on this stage right now. Will it be Miguel Diaz from Cobra Kai karate? Will it be Sylvia Stokes also from Cobra Kai karate? Will it be Robby Keene, unaffiliated? And last but certainly not least, last year's champion, fighting out of Topanga Karate, Xander Stone!" He said. Xander then flipped and landed infront of the host guy and took the microphone. He started giving a speech about hate and stuff. Sylvia was going first against Stone. Everyone walked to the side. "You got this Sylvia!" Miguel yelled. She smiled back and turned to face forward. They bowed and started fighting.
It was good 1-2. he was fast but Sylvia could handle it. Sylvia sent kicks trying to find an opportunity but Xander was very cautious with every block. Until he slipped and Sylvia roundhoused him in the face. He landed on his back. Sylvia smiled and looked at sensei. She was walking back to her spot but then felt someone kick her left shoulder. Sylvia dropped down to her knees. And bent down grasping her shoulder. Sylvia sucks in a breath as she felt her whole arm start tingling. She saw Miguel and Sensei run up to her. "Are- are you ok?" Miguel asked quickly. "I can't feel my shoulder. I think it popped out" Sylvia groans while Miguel and Sensei helped her stand up.
Long story short the medic said it would be really bad for Sylvia to continue fighting despite her protests and Xander got disqualified. She stood beside Johnny watching Miguel and Robby fight.
Daniel called time and Miguel came over and sat infront of us. Sylvia had never seen his face so mad but determined at the same time.

"Yes Miguel!" Sylvia screams and jumped up and down next to him. Miguel won. He smiled and engulfed her into a hug. "Who saw that coming? I know I didn't, without further ado, let me present the trophy to this year's new champion, Miguel Diaz and the Cobra Kai dojo!" He announced giving Miguel the trophy. "Anything you wanna say to the people, son" the announcer asked Miguel. He took the mic. "I just wanna say that if it wasn't for my sensei and my best friend I wouldn't be here. So this is for Sensei Lawrence, Sylvia Stokes, and Cobra Kai!" He yelled into the mic holding up the trophy. Sylvia smiled hugely as everyone started chanting Cobra Kai.
