{Season 1 episode 4}

Sylvia sat in the back next to Miguel. She took of the hood of his skeleton costume. Miguel was sure to have bruises everywhere. "Come on. Help him up" Sensei says opening the back door. Sylvia wrapped Miguel's arm around her and Johnny does the same.

Once Carmen opened the door she went into complete panic. "Oh, Miguelito!" She screamed. Sylvia set Miguel on the couch as Carmen screamed at Johnny. "I don't want you ever coming near my son again, do you understand me?"

"I'm sorry. I should've never gotten involved."

"No! Cobra Kai never dies!" Miguel cries as sensei left the apartment. Sylvia sits on the floor defeated. Exhausted too. No way she has something good in her life going and some scum like Kyler is just going to ruin it. "Ai, mija. Are you okay?" Carmen asks Sylvia helping her up from the floor.

"I should've never left to go dance with freaking Brandon." Sylvia groans and puts her hands on her face. "Hey, help me clean him up. And then I'll clean up you okay?" Carmen sweetly asks. "Okay" Sylvia bit her lip staring at Miguel who was groaning on the couch.

Sylvia slowly wiped away the face paint she put on with a warm wet towel. She lightly held onto his bruised jaw as she cleaned his face. "I'm sorry I couldn't have gotten there sooner. I should've never left with Brandon." Sylvia whispers unsure if he's awake or not.

"I just thought maybe if I had a little dance it'll make things better. I haven't had a boyfriend since last year. It- it went horrible. I could've stopped the whole thing. We could still be at the party right now." Sylvia blamed herself for almost anything bad that happens. It was one of her very bad habits.

"Sylvia" Miguel gently whispers. "It's not your fault. You still saved me" Miguel says. "Saved you? Miguel I'm pretty sure your ribs are bruised"

Soon enough Carmen made Miguel change his clothes and he crashed back down onto the couch. "Migs" Sylvia calls out. He hummed in response. "I'm gonna go. Get better?"

"You can't stay?"

"Have to make sure Eliana didn't set my room of fire. See you tomorrow" Sylvia gave Miguel a smile before walking out his apartment.

The next day Sylvia walked out her apartment and saw Miguel and sensei talking. "You don't get it kid, there is no dojo it's over"

"what about me I... I need you."

"Sorry kid. If you want some advice, Sylvia's a tough kid. She'll protect you. I gotta go" sensei said and left. Sylvia stared at sensei as he walked off. She shakes her head and sighs before walking up to Miguel. "Come on let's go to school"

Sylvia walked with Miguel to class. "Your ok right, like can you breathe?" She asks. "Yeah, of course I can breathe" he replies. After a few classes Sylvia, Miguel, Eli and Demetri was at study hall. "So that's it no more karate?" Demetri asked. "I guess so." Miguel replied. "It's probably for the best. It was starting to boost your confidence" Demetri said shrugging. "Isn't that a good thing?" Sylvia says. "No. What has confidence ever gotten anybody except for a black eye, and their backpack thrown in the trash?" Demetri said. "Well, I thought it was kind of cool how you stood up to Kyler."

"Are you insane? Let me ask you. What is the best superpower anyone can have?" Demetri asks.

"Super strength"

"Wrong Invisibility. A distant second would be super speed to run away fast." Demetri said. Suddenly Kyler walked up to their table. "Run away from who?"

"Whom, it's the object of preposition. Remember English class." His friend said. "Let's go" Sylvia
whispered to Miguel. "We were just leaving" Miguel says as they all stood up. "Hey, where are you going? Oh, look at this freak." Kyler calls out grabbing Eli. "Oh shit! What kind of girl would ever kiss this shit?"

"Leave him alone Kyler" Miguel said. Kyler let go of Eli and walked up to Miguel. "What did you say?" Kyler taunts. Sylvia swiftly shifted herself in between them and Kyler backed up. "Leave. Us. Alone" Sylvia said sternly. She turned around and walked Miguel out the library.

School ended and Sylvia walked out with Miguel. A car honked a few times and Sylvia heard Miguel's mom call him over. She looked at him about to burst out laughing. "Shut up" he jokes and walked to his car.

Sylvia went to work a few minutes after she came back to her apartment. She found this job at a roller rink.

Miguel texted Sylvia to go to the dojo the next day. She immediately got into her car and drove there. "Hey Miguel, why do you look so happy?" She teased.

"My mom said I can train again!" Miguel jumped up and down as they walked into the dojo.

"She did?"

"If we still have the dojo." Sylvia replies but it came out more as a question. "We do for now" sensei says walking towards us. "Alright but I need to know, are you ready to take things to the next level?"

Miguel and Sylvia nod eagerly. "Yes sensei" they say. "Now you got your dad kicked because you didn't have any sentence, so I'm gonna teach you the best sentence that you can know. And the best defense. Is more offense"
