Chapter 5

{season 1 episode 5}

Over the span of the next two days Sylvia and Miguel woke up early. Exercised together and then went to the dojo to train. Miguel was training with sensei and when he swept him off the ground sensei pressed the button and a baseball hit Miguel's ear and he fell to the ground. "Uh oh" Sylvia whispered to herself bolting up and walking over to Miguel. "What? What the hell? That, that wasn't fair" Miguel groaned. "You want a fair fight? Dream on." Sensei replies standing up. "Alright let's get up" Sylvia grunted while pulling Miguel up. "You can't always think your enemies will play by the rules"

"yeah but.. my ear" Miguel whined still holding his ear. "What if that baseball was your enemy's friend coming at you from behind? You have to be prepared for everything." Sensei said. Miguel kept whimpering and holding his ear. "Let me see" Sylvia whispered as she slowly pulled his hand off. "Oh shit" Sylvia said to sensei. "What is it bad?" Miguel asked. "No, no just a little bit of blood" Sylvia cringed, patting him on the back. "No, it's fine. Don't be a baby." Sensei adds. Suddenly they heard the bell ring and a bunch of girls walk in with yoga mats. "Hello." The girl says. "Aw shit" Sensei mutters. "It's 5:00 twilight is upon us."

"What's going on" Miguel asked. "Uh, I had to sublet the dojo for a few hours. Just till we get more students" Sylvia and Miguel watched in horror as the yoga people moved in elegance and covered up the no mercy slang.

The next day Sylvia and Miguel punched gloves sensei had on and the ginger haired girl walked in from the dance. "No yoga till 5. No matter how much you need it" sensei said. "I'm actually here for karate. I saw your website. It said that there was supposed to be a session today." She said. "I appreciate you coming in, but there are no girls in Cobra Kai" sensei said . "Hey!" Sylvia hissed at him. "Why not? Sylvia is here" she asked. "Same reason they aren't in the army. Doesn't make sense." Sensei ignored Sylvia. "Uh, sensei, I need to show you something in the office." Miguel said. "Yeah go" Sylvia mutters to him. They walked into his office and Sylvia walked over to her. "Hey uhm guess you already now me what's your name?" She asks. "Hi, I'm Aisha" sensei walked out. "Ok take off your shoes hop onto the mat"

Sensei went on on how girls act and bullying. Sensei then had Miguel and Aisha fight. Miguel was hesitant but then kicked her in the stomach. Aisha got up and pushed him to the ground and kneeled his ribs. Sylvia cringed as Miguel groaned on the floor. "Hey," Sylvia mutters kneeling down beside Miguel. "You good?"

"Yeah." Miguel whines. They trained a couple more hours. "Sensei I have to go my boss wanted me to go to the rink a hour earlier" Sylvia pants while pouring water into her mouth from her water bottle.

"You have a job?" Aisha asks. "Yeah, sucks but I'm dealing with it. Sensei! Can I leave?" Sylvia throws her head back and closes her eyes. Praying he would say yes. "Yeah okay. Go make me some money."

"Make you money?" Sylvia scoffs but smiles and shakes her head. "Bye migs, I'll see you later Aisha"

It was lunch and Sylvia was walking to her table. "Hey guys. You know that billboard with a big-ass dick on it? I guess Sam takes after he dad" Kyler calls out. Sylvia looked over and saw Sam standing infront of Kyler. She gave Miguel a look. "Get up. I got your back" She whispered to him. "Hey Kyler! Why don't you shut the hell up and stop being such an asshole" Miguel calls out walking towards him.

"Want another beat down Rhea?" Kyler said, shoving Miguel. "I'm ready for you lame-ass karate this time." He said and pushed Miguel again harder into the table. "It's not lame-ass karate." Miguel scoffs. Kyler threw a punch but Miguel catches it. "It's cobra Kai" he finished saying and punched him in the face.

Kyler stumbled backwards and touched the blood coming down his nose. Kyler ran into Miguel and slammed him into the table. He pulled him up and threw him onto another one. He pulled Miguel off into a choke hold. Miguel elbowed him in the stomach and twisted his arm out and punched him again. He kicked Kylers back and he fell onto the floor. One of Miguel's friends held him from the back holding him in place. Sylvia immediately ran up to him and kicked his hip. Causing him to stumble into a table. "No mercy!" Aisha calls out.

Sylvia backed herself into Miguel as Kyler's friends circled around them. "Promotion day" Sylvia mutters. A blondie ran behind Miguel and he swept him onto the floor. Sylvia noticed a guy swinging at her. She caught it and held his fist in her hand. Sylvia kicked him in his stomach and he bent down groaning. Sylvia roundhouses him on his right cheek and he fell to the floor. She saw Brucks start getting up and Miguel ran into another table and rolled across. Sylvia ran up to him. "I'll take right?" She asks. "Alright"

One of Kylers friends ran up to Sylvia. She grabbed a small plate of pasta and slammed it into his face. She took the chance to side kick his chest. She then grabbed the empty tray that was on the table and smacked another guys head. Another guy came up and she kicked him in the chest. Sylvia saw Kyler get up.

Miguel ran to a circular table. She quickly tossed Miguel her tray and he hit Kyler with it. Sylvia jumped onto the table with Miguel, grabbed his hand and raised it in victory. "Woooo! Eat shit Kyler!" She yelled out looking at all his friends on the floor. Sylvia realized all the students were cheering for them and recording. "Let me hear it!" She cheered. Soon after of course a teacher came.

After school Sylvia and Miguel went to the dojo and started explaining the great day we had. "All four of them? Even the big dumb one?" Sensei asked. "Brucks? Yeah! It was great" Sylvia said looking at the video on her phone. "It all happened so fast. Everything just came together" Miguel said. "Huh. Your moms gonna kill both of us." Johnny said nodding. "Well, she would if she knew, when my school called my yaya answered. Never seen her so proud. She won't talk" Miguel said. "Alright so let me get this straight. You two took all the lessons I taught you. And you used them to straight up beat the shit out of those punks?" Sensei asks walking towards us. "Well, yeah" Miguel said quietly. "Follow me"

They walked out into sensei's car he opened the trunk and saw 2 gis with a cobra Kai logo on it. One was a white while the other one was black. He explained how he wore it back in 81. "I get the black one right?" Sylvia asked jokingly. "Yeah of course" he said. She smiled and grabbed it. "Thanks!" Sylvia beamed and hugged Johnny. "I'm gonna go to back to the dojo" She smiles. As she walked away she ran her fingers over the embroidered cobra. Sylvia looked back and saw a boy around the corner looking at sensei and Miguel. She brushed it off and went inside.
