BECKY'S POV
It has been a week already and Freen has been in coma. There hasn't been any difference in her condition but some of her wounds are now getting healed and it will probably leave a scar.
It is 9 am today and I entered her room with couple of wet towels so that I can wipe her hands and legs. Just when I finished, I saw Nam outside the room waiting for me.
" Miss Nam, I have already told you that we can't let you see her ". I said with a slow voice because right now I was feeling pity for her as she was not able to see her best friend.
" I know I know but there has to be some way or anything. I can't just sit here and wait for her to wake up. Please miss Armstrong ". She pleaded with hope in her eyes, believing that there was a way.
" Miss you should consult Dr. Heng for this, there may be a way but it can be only done legally ". I said as I showed her the way of Heng's office.
She entered his office after knocking on the door and getting his consent. I just stayed outside waiting for their conversation to be over because even if I try to deny it, I am a little concerned about her.
After 5 to 10 minutes, a smiling Nam came out of Heng's office and just when she came into my view, she hugged me. To be honest it felt a little awkward because as a introverted person I didn't like physical touch of other people unless they are really close.
" Oh Miss Armstrong, I can see her now. Just i have to get this document with my signature and get this legally approved ". Nam said waving a piece of paper in her hand which I assumed was the document.
I nodded with a little smile on my face because I was honestly happy for her. She quickly left the hospital and got into her car.
I believe that soon she is going to be the one staying here taking care of Freen which made me a little happy as I would be able to go home after work rather than taking care of the lady patient but some part of me felt something else, it was hurt.
These past few days I have grown to like the woman as her facial features were beautiful and I was mesmerized by her beauty. I know I am being a little selfish right now and I know that her condition can really improve if she senses the presence of her loved ones.
I spent my day with this mental conflict but I really needed to sort this out.
She is just your patient, Becky
I looked at her face and traced the scar on her forehead with my fingertips. I was startled when someone barged into the room, huffing for air.
" Oh Freen ". Nam rushed to her bedside and held her face in her hands. " I told you so many times not to drive like that why didn't you listen to me ?!! ". Nam said as she shed a few tears after seeing her best friend in that state.
" I will leave you two alone ". I sensed that she needed some alone time with her friend so I excused myself and Nam appreciated my gesture.
" Becky from now on there is no need to stay here to look after her, I have got that under cover ". Nam said from behind and I just nodded without turning around.
I finally took a deep breath in.
It is done, you can go home
I felt lonely after realising this as during this week I have grown to like the company of a certain someone, sure she was unconscious and in coma but even the silence with her felt comfortable. I knew that I didn't have anything with her, she has a girlfriend and all.
I was just looking after her, nothing more and nothing less.
After that day, time went by slowly, each day I just looked at the patient from outside and only entered her ward if it was necessary. I realised that it was the silence which I admired, not her, not Freen Sarcoha.
