CHAPTER THIRTY ONE

FREEN'S POV:-

I didn't talk to Cathy after the fight in my office, after she yelled at my secretary. I just spent the last week in a hotel room, I was exhausted from sleeping in my office and I couldn't bring myself to go back to my penthouse.

" I think Ma'am, you were a little harsh on Miss Cathy ". Richard said, bringing me out of my trance. He must have thought that the reason I am so quiet today is because of Cathy.

" Richard I know you think that you are just my secretary and I shouldn't have fought with my girlfriend because of you but you have to understand that what she did was wrong and I will not let it slide. No one can speak to my workers like that ". He nodded and I can feel that he was thankful, I know I may not be a friendly boss but I will stand up from my employees because they are my company's backbone.

He bowed down and left my office. I sighed and leaned back in my chair, this has been so stressful for me and I don't know how to deal with this. The only good happening right now is that the unusual activity from my company account has not occurred again.

I kept reviewing the evidence provided by Richard but I couldn't come to any conclusion, it seemed like a dead end.

" Ma'am you have a visitor ". Richard informed me through the comms and I was surprised because I was not expecting someone. " Who is it ? ". I enquired and I heard him sigh.

" It is Miss Cathy ". Richard said and it made me groan, I don't need her drama again but I knew if I don't let her in she will create a scene in the building.

" Let her in ". I gave my permission and Richard followed my order as I saw Cathy enter my office after a few seconds.

" Babe ". She said sweetly which made me clench my jaw, she didn't even apologize for her mistake and right now she is trying to act as if everything is normal.

" Are you really not going to talk to me ? ". She said casually as she took a seat in front of me, I just glanced at her, still not replying to her.

" Look I am sorry ". She said after a pause, I raised my eyebrow at her because that apology was definitely not accepted.

" What will it take for you to forgive me ? ". She asked, looking desperate for my attention but I'm not seriously going to tell her that, she is mature enough to realise the right choice on her own.

" I will apologize to your secretary if that's what you want ". I stared at her, contemplating if she is being serious. I pushed the button and told Richard to come into my office.

After a few seconds, Richard knocked on my door and I gave him my permission. " Yess ma'am ". He bowed down when he came into the office, I glanced at Cathy signalling her to do what she said she will.

" Mr. Richard I am sorry for yelling at you and I should have not disrespected you when I know you are important to my girlfriend, so I want to sincerely apologize to you ". Cathy passed a quick smile towards Richard's way.

I know Richard was put in a awkward position, he hesitantly glanced my way, asking for help silently. I nodded at him and gave him permission to say whatever he wanted, I won't tell him to accept the apology when he doesn't want to.

" It is alright, Miss Cathy ". Richard bowed down, not wanting to maintain eye contact with either of us. I sighed and told Richard to leave my office. I thought he would not accept the apology but I guess he is afraid of actually doing that.

" You can leave us now, Richard ". I smiled his way and he nodded before giving us privacy. " Now will you please talk to me baby ". Cathy said sweetly, making me cringe mentally but I sighed and nodded.
