CHAPTER SIX

BECKY'S POV ( NEXT MONTH )

Richie and I were standing outside of the airport, waiting for our parents to come who were arriving from England. I was feeling impatient as I haven't met them in two years. They are visiting us for two months after that they will be leaving as my dad has company work to handle.

" Mom !! Dad !! Here, look over here ". I shouted and waved their way before they eventually noticed us. " Oh Becky, my baby ". My mom said as she embraced me and then Richie in her arms. We quickly put their luggage in the trunk and drove off.

" Richie just drop me off at the hospital ". I said when we got close to my hospital. " You can't take a day off ? ". My dad asked and I just shaked my head. " Dad don't be like this, you know how important is my work ". I said while pouting and looking at my dad from the rear view mirror. " Make sure you come home early than usual ". My dad said and it looked more like an order than a request. " I will try Dad ". I said chuckling and soon got out of the car when we reached the hospital.

" Have a nice day, honey ". My mom and dad waved at me and I just smiled back and saw the car driving away.

I headed inside the hospital and Irin quickly grabbed my hand dragging me inside. " Shit Becky, why are you late today ? ". She seemed worried and kept dragging me towards Dr. Heng's office. " Irin calm down ! I informed Dr. Heng about this ". I told her but she didn't react to any of it.

" He forgot what day it was today, we are going to be in trouble ". Okay now I am getting worried.

We got to Dr. Heng's office and I knocked on his door while Irin left for doing daily check ups.

" Come in ! ". I heard him say and I went in quickly. " Oh Becky, I am so sorry I forgot about today. I know that you said you were going to pick up your parents from the airport ". Heng seemed worried about this and this was making me wonder about what is exactly happening.

Why is today so important ?

" From today, you will be assisting Dr. Saint who works in the rehabilitation section. I know you don't have much experience in that field but Dr. Saint will help you ". Heng informed me but I was left confused.

Why all of the sudden they are shifting me to Rehabilitation section ?

" Why so suddenly ? ". I finally asked him as I was very curious about this unexpected change. " There is a patient coming today for their rehabilitation therapy and Dr. Saint requires your help for that ". Heng explained to me but the reason was still unclear.

" But why ? From what I know they are not short on staff. Is this because of my performance ? Am I not doing good ? ". I was not satisfied by his response and not happy at all by this sudden change. " No no Becky, you were going very good while assisting me in the ER. Believe me it is not because of your performance ". Heng tried reassuring me but it didn't work.

" Then why Doctor ? ". I needed an answer and I needed it now. " You know what ? why don't you go down to rehabilitation section and meet with Dr. Saint, he will tell you what it is about ". Heng said as he guided me out of his office.

I went straight to rehabilitation section of our hospital and saw Dr. Saint waiting for me. " You must be Miss Armstrong ". He looked at me questioningly and I nodded, he quickly ushered me inside. " I know it seems out of the blue, you are probably wondering why are you here as this is not your speciality ". I nodded and he went on explaining the situation to me.

" You see Miss Armstrong, we were equally shocked as you are but this new patient who will be starting the therapy with us this morning requested your presence while they are here. They want you to be the one who helps with exercises and other things while I assist them with walking exercises ". I was still confused and kept thinking that how would a patient know about me ? Why is it necessary for me to be present here during their treatment.
