CHAPTER FOURTY ONE

BECKY'S POV :-

It was my day off but if there is an emergency case at the hospital, I would have to rush there.

I woke up pretty late today, wanting to make up for the sleep I lost this week due to the hectic work and Freen.

I saw her the other day at the hospital, she was with her secretary, Richard, I don't know what the purpose of her visit was but Irin told me she met with Dr. Noey when she was there.

I remember her staring at me, I was taken aback for a second as she was the one who chose Cathy over me again when I confessed about my feelings.

Why did she have to apologize if she was not going to choose me again ?

I ruffled my hair, to discontinue myself from thinking about it. I got up from my bed and slowly dragged myself to the washroom, I brushed my teeth sleepily, yawning before washing my face.

" Princess, Are you awake ? ". My dad knocked on my door while I was still in the washroom. He opened the door and entered inside, after seeing that I was already awake, he left.

" Your Mom made breakfast, come out after you are done ". He left, closing the door behind him. It took me another ten minutes to change my night clothes and wear something comfortable.

" Why am I the only one who has to go to work today ? ". Richie sighed, biting into the piece of pancake on his fork, I took my seat, beside his.

" Don't be a crybaby, alright ? I work more than you so don't be jealous when I get a day off. You get offs on Saturday while I'm working my ass off at the hospital ". I playfully nudge his side as I said this, Dad agreed with me which mad Richie groan.

" You are always on her side ! Mom ! ". Richie called out mom who was busy making us breakfast in the kitchen. " Sorry honey ! But I think I will take Becky's side on this one ". She replied back and I giggled.

" I'm leaving ". Richie grumpily announced and left for his work after finishing his last bite.

" Mom, where are my.... ". I was cut off in between when my dad turned on the news channel with a high volume.

" Dad... ". I was about to tell him to turn off the television but the news caught my eye.

Freen......

" What are they talking about ? ". I asked and my dad just shrugged.

" Freen Sarocha Chankimha, the CEO of Diversity Pop and Ninety two, has a court hearing today, her company's funds were being illegally used by another person, but our insiders say that the court case is much more than that. We are right now standing outside of her company, waiting for her to come out so we can find answers from her ".

The reporter was live and was standing outside Freen's company.

" Did you have any idea about this ? ". My dad asked me, I was staring at the television screen, without blinking. " How would I know ? We haven't been together for 2 months ". I turned to my dad, my response was a little rude but he understood that anything related to Freen was a sensitive topic for me.

" Do you want to follow the live coverage ? ". I just shrugged like it didn't matter to me but my entire focus was towards what the reporters were saying about it. I ate my breakfast in peace and decided to lay on the living room couch, in front of the television, pretending to read the book.

" Do you want me to turn off the TV ? ". My dad asked but I just shrugged. " Your choice ". I kept my eyes glued to the book in front of me, I didn't turn a page around and I knew my dad knew that I wasn't reading.
