CHAPTER THIRTY EIGHT

FREEN'S POV :-

It has been a week since I temporarily closed my company account from which the money was illegally been taken, there hasn't been any progress from my side, I haven't been able to pinpoint the culprit.

Because I know Cathy is just a pawn

But she is still an accomplice

" Richard it is time ". I got out from my office and gestured Richard to follow me, we got into my personal elevator. " Same park ? ". Richard asked and I nodded, we were both going to the park to get Mr. Billy's message.

" Don't you have a meeting with him today ? ". He asked again, checking my schedule, I nodded again. " I have to check it everyday, it is important for the investigation and don't forget that we are reaching the deadline provided by Mr. William ". Richard sighed and nodded, we were both exhausted from the added workload, we were both spending extra time in office just to find a lead.

Richard was about to open the car door for me when we reached the parking lot but I gestured him to take the wheel as I can open it for myself. " We don't have much time, we have to rush ". I told him as I glanced at my wrist watch.

" Ma'am I think we are being followed ". Richard stated as he tried to speed up the car, I looked back and was able to catch the car. " Don't increase the speed, don't let them think that we spotted them ". Richard was hesitant at first, however, he had no other option but to work according to my instructions.

" Don't panic Richard, maybe they are trying to get us into an accident but focus on the road ". Richard's hands were shaking with fear but he took deep breaths and remained composed. " Don't take them directly to the park, we shouldn't let them think that it was our original destination ". I said and Richard nodded.

I am hoping that they don't know anything about Billy and the messages he left in the park for me, I have made sure that my visits don't look suspicious to others so I don't think so they have any clue about that.

" Where should I drive to ? ". Richard quickly asked and I looked around to see where are we. " Drive us to the hospital, we are close to it ". I answered back, I still kept an eye on the car. " Miss Armstrong works there, Are you sure ? ". Richard said as his voice quivered, I knew that he was stressed even if he didn't want me to notice.

" Richard it is either that or an accident ! What do you want ?! ". I shouted at him and he jumped in his seat. " Hospital it is ". He squeaked out and turn right towards the hospital. " Ma'am what if they follow us into the hospital ". He asked and I sighed running my hands through my hair.

" Fucking let me think, Richard ! We still have time to reach there ". I closed my eyes for a second to think peacefully. " I have an idea, It will work ". I snapped my fingers together when I found a way out. " But Richard... you have to promise me something ". I said slowly, Richard nodded immediately, still keeping his eyes on the road.

" Don't behave like we know Becky...... I don't want them to think that she means something to me so if you see her don't say anything to her ". Richard glanced towards me with a small smile. " You don't have to ask me for that ". He replied back and I showed my gratitude towards him with a smile.

" So it turns out I am not wrong ". He chuckled as he tried to look for a parking space in the hospital parking lot. " What do you mean ? ". I had no idea what he was trying to say here.

" That you didn't stop loving Miss Armstrong ". He grinned and my eyes were left wide open. " I uh.... ". I nervously scratched the back of my neck. " It was obvious Miss Freen, I knew you were making a mistake going back to Miss Cathy ". I laughed and he joined in.
