CHAPTER THIRTY

BECKY'S POV :-

The hospital gave me a week off to recover fully before I can assist Dr. Heng's team. I didn't complain because I could use this week to try to get over my break up and honestly so far I'm doing a good job.

I was sitting on my bed with Bonbon lying beside me, he was still holding onto the toy Freen had bought for him but he would let me touch it occasionally without growling or barking at me. I really want to tell Bonbon that I didn't enjoy playing with this toy as it was covered with his saliva.

As I promised to my mother, I haven't skipped my meals and she has been monitoring my routine, never allowed me to go out of her sight and sometimes it gets unsettling but I know she deeply cares for me so I let it slide.

" Someone is here to see you ". My mother announced as she opened my bedroom door, I was surprised as I was not expecting anyone's company today.

" Hii !! Becbec ". There was Irin standing in my bedroom doorway, holding milk tea in one hand and cupcakes in other. She seemed so awfully happy that it made me want to throw up.

She jumped on my bed, handed me the milk tea and started munching on the cupcakes. " Why are you here ? ". I tried to act like her presence was not welcomed by me but the reality was far from it.

" Dr. Heng gave me an off today so I decided to spend it with you , you must be tired sitting in your bedroom all day ". Irin giggled and I couldn't help but smile as well.

" Aww, I knew it you were happy to see me ". Irin nudged my side which result in a giggle. " Stop it before I throw you out of my house ". I glared at her which didn't have any effect on her, she had an amused look on her face.

" Sure you can try but I don't think so your mother will allow that. I am certain she has grown a liking for me from our first meet ". Irin proudly smirked but I was shocked to learn that my mother approved of Irin so fast because normally my mom would judge my friends before even talking to them.

" Did you do something to her because that is highly unlikely to happen ? ". I questioned Irin who just playfully shrugged. " You brought some of your cupcakes for her, didn't you ? ". I added another question and this time a grin emerged on her face.

" So you bribed her to make her like you ? ". I giggled and she nodded shyly, it was not long after she joined my little giggles as well. " What are you girls talking about ? ". My mom suddenly came into my room and popped up the question which made both of us go silent.

" It was nothing mom, we were making fun of how Bonbon's tongue is always sticking out of his mouth ". My mom cracked a smile before leaving my room. " If you want to have some privacy then you really came to the wrong house because my mom has been keeping an eye on me since I fainted at the hospital ". I sighed and Irin didn't look much bothered by it .

" Honestly I don't blame her if I was in her place I would have done the same thing, Becky ". Irin said with a deep sigh and I just nodded, I made everyone worried that day. " But the good thing is that I don't intend to keep us here all day ". Irin added with a pause which made me look at her questioningly.

" What are you planning to do ? ". I asked but she just giggled. " You didn't think that I bought cupcakes for your mom just to make her like me ". I was dumbfounded before laughing at her, she honestly took my mother for granted.

" Well whatever you are planning to do will take more than cupcakes to convince my mother ". I said which flattered her smile a little but it didn't disappear completely. " Oh Becbec, Don't underestimate my skills ". With that Irin jumped down from my bed and went to find my mother.
