Just as Jungkook had feared, the King wasn't happy about the way the interrogation went. He was happy no one was hurt in the end, but he appointed his own team to continue dealing with anything involving Hyungwon and Saakhan Venom. Jungkook was a bit disappointed at first. He felt they were being punished and he was hoping to see this all the way to the end, as he does everything. However he began to realize that it was only the King's way of protecting his son, nephews, and the rest of the brotherhood.
Now Jungkook has been taking advantage of this new freedom. He's no longer worried and stressed about SV. Their leader, and plenty of others are locked up now, and he doesn't have to be the one to keep his eye on them. Because of that he's been able to enjoy much more time with Luna.
He took her to Apo Isle where she mentioned all of the places his mom showed her. He'd never admit it, but he finds himself a little jealous that his mom took Luna there before he did. He's not sure why, but he felt like he should have been the one to take her somewhere as beautiful and romantic as Apo Isle.
The day after he took her to the shopping district and spoiled her with anything she dared to set her eyes on. Luna quickly learned that the salary of a royal shield is quite lavish, but because Jungkook doesn't have rent or bills to pay living on palace grounds, and no family or kids to support, he'd just been sitting on his money. He admitted for a long time he had been secretly paying all of his mom's bills, but she eventually found out and did everything to lock him out of all of her accounts. No matter the situation, Sunyoung was not going to let her son pay for anything of hers.
Days continue to pass with Jungkook and Luna spending much of their time together. He's been able to take her on many dates, show her lots of places, even helped her find places she could apply for a job. She's been enjoying this time. She's been able to see much more of the kingdom and try many of its places to eat. She knows her way around better, and somehow now has an entire wardrobe of new clothes.
Two weeks after the interrogation of Hyungwon, Jungkook has his regular meeting with the King and all royal personnel. He had managed to avoid his father all of this time, but he can't avoid him now. As always, he sits between Jin and Hoseok while the King discusses the things he felt were worth discussing. None of it ever matters to Jungkook, until the King suddenly mentions Hyungwon.
In the past two weeks many of the best interrogators in the kingdom weren't able to get Hyungwon to talk. The only information they have is what he said when Luna faced him.
"He won't say a word," King Hojin says at his podium before his personnel. "We can't do anything with the information we have now. However it was suggested that we bring Luna before Park Hyungwon again and see if he talks again. It may be risky, but it seems to be our only option."
Jungkook instantly tenses up and gets ready to stand in protest, but Jin grabs his arm to keep him in place. Jungkook is livid. At this point everyone knows Luna's story and they know how dangerous this plan is. He doesn't want her anywhere near Hyungwon ever again, and he was relaxed thinking that wouldn't happen until now. To him, they could get information a million other ways so there's no need to put Luna in the same room with him and put her in the arms of danger again. He wants to jump up and tell the King that this is a big mistake, but now Hoseok is holding his other arm.
For the remainder of the meeting Jungkook is seeing red. He also can't help but notice the smirk on his father's face. From that smirk alone Jungkook knows his father had something to do with this. He's seething and Jin and Hoseok can tell. They're just as surprised as he is by the announcement.
At the end of the meeting Jin goes to speak with his dad. He's hoping he can get him to change his mind if he explains the amount of danger he would be putting Luna in. Jungkook heads straight out into the hall after his father with Hoseok on his heels. When his father is far enough from everyone else Jungkook corners him and stares right into his eyes.
