HOPE YOU HAVE A JOLLY READ
PLEASE BE AN ELF AND MAKE A VOTE
She was so done with Christmas already.
She knew it was a festive holiday for most but she's had enough.
She's fed up with glitter filling the air from all the glittered ordainments left decorations hallways and doors.
She's fed with tinsel tripping her over or whacking her in the face from where people have tried finding okayish spots to place it.
She's fed up with sneezing to death everytime someone brought mistletoe into the Garrison hoping to gain themselves a kiss or leave it for surprise attacks for two strangers.
She'd fed up with the jolly moods too.
Sure, she had a small plastic tree that she's decorated in her lab. But she's kept it tucked in a corner, safe from any fire risk during her work.
She's done her part for Christmas without going overboard and she couldn't understand why others couldn't do the same.
She more so wasn't looking forward towards the Garrison's Christmas party on Christmas eve either.
Only those who held no family close by or were single would be going.
Everyone else with leave for the holiday would be travelling home and spending the joyful day with their love ones and friends.
Everyone who was single or didn't gain leave for the holiday was left to lift the Christmas Spirit with booze and old Christmas songs.
Her family was making her go even though she was a grown adult now and she didn't even live under her parents roof anymore.
Her only perk of being forced to go was that her brother was trapped into going too.
Both Holt siblings knew their mother would track them down a mere hour before the party started and kidnap them on the spot, no matter how little or awful they might be dressed when she finds them.
Their poor father still keeps a change of nice clothes in the boot of their car after his wife had dragged him out of the shower due to having getting home late that day and rushed to shower and had hoped to dress in his suit too.
Thankfully Matt was able to grab the suit on his way to meet them all at the party. But it left them all understanding that Colleen Holt would force them to go to that party no matter what state they were in.
She didn't mind the thought of a party, not really.
She just wasn't a social person.
She didn't like crowds, loud sounds or awkward chit chat.
As well as she wasn't a drinker, she could hold her booze but she's never felt good the few times she's tried drinking. So, she just doesn't drink and that leaves everyone trying to encourage to get plastered or assumed she's boring and a lightweight.
But the worse part of the party was the Garrison pilots, the fighters or the cargo pilots.
Those that were single loved to mingle at the party, knowing their job would let them easily score.
