(Can't forget to add my favourite Christmas song)
Shiro had felt alone for so long that he hasn't even thought over spending the holidays for someone in a long time now.
He knew he had a family but his space family also held their own lives now.
Everything was fine the first year since they won the war.
Keith was still new to getting to know his Galran mom and Shiro acted as the safe middle ground over having them both spend Christmas in his Garrison apartment.
But than Keith spent the next Christmas in space with his mom and the blades.
The Holt's would have offered Shiro a place in their family if he ever actual reached out to them but Shiro's pride wouldn't allow it.
He felt like his spot in their Christmas would be out of pity than actual wanting him to join them.
He knew it wasn't true, Colleen and Sam would welcome him like their own child and spoil him rotten as one.
But as an grown man who survived space, he just didn't want to reply on their kindness so much.
Lance and Hunk would spend the holidays with their families.
The two would send out some Christmas cheer and holiday spirt through photos, messages and a few phone calls before the 25th dropped by but than they'd pour all their attention on their loves ones.
As they should.
The pair deserved to be surrounded by their families they've missed dearly.
Shiro had started to date Curtis at some point.
He knew his co-worker held a crush on him, everyone teased the man over it and made jokes around Shiro over his loyal puppy.
Shiro was scared to start dating, knowing he had failed and ended up hurting Adam before their devoice. But he took the risk.
And he was happy but he just didn't love Curtis.
So, he ended things.
He held no parents.
No other family.
And he refused to be that invited guest that people invited for the shake of not wanting to feel bad over them being alone on the holidays.
He wasn't going to become a burden for anyone.
Now would be the sixth year he'd be spending Christmas alone again.
His apartment was decorated for Christmas as always.
He had his favourite Christmas snacks on an end table and Christmas films he owned stacked beside the tv.
The presents sent by his space family was pushed by his tree, waiting to be opened in the morning.
