Side Note: Remember Oranges use to be seen as an Christmas present.
All had known it was Christmas but barely held any proof over it.
No snow had fallen and nor was the winter freezing in temperature.
Battles weren't stopped and nor was the war over or even held on break for a week or even a couple of days.
Soldiers were still dying and love ones were gaining a letter full of sorrow over how their love ones haven't survived the war. Soldiers sent money and stolen items home, sometimes a little more as a Christmas treat and sometimes they scraped together all they had as they struggled to gain any earnings that winter.
It was known to be Christmas but none held any real proof over it standing as December apart from knowing the date of the month only.
Some still searched for the Christmas spirit.
Drinking themselves until they were filled with joy.
Telling over seasonal stories over their past holidays.
Some had tried to bring the magic to the soldier lives.
Others had merely given up or promised to find Christmas after the war had been won.
"What are you doing?" Rolo asked as he and Hunk had returned to their section of camp, one from getting more tobacco while the other had gone to check out something told to him by their shortest friend.
"Threatening Lance and Regris into helping me with something. And kindly asking Antok for a favour" Pidge answered as if she was merely telling over him the weather and not over threatening two of their friends.
"Why isn't he being threatened?" Lance grumbled back as he sent a quick jealous glare towards Antok while sewing two fabrics togehter, hating how Pidge learnt over his needle work skills.
"He's Antok, no one threatens him and he'd do anything his baby Pidge would ask of him. But I do not agree with this unfair treatment" Regris mumbled back as he stayed focusing on sewing the names on the already sewn bits of fabrics passed over to him. Unhappy over being threatened into this too but knowing that no one would step in to save them.
"Stop complaining" Antok simply sighed, carrying on with sewing two bits of fabric togehter without a care.
"How in the world did you find a box of such rare goodies during war?" Hunk asked curious from where he's taken a seat on a free log, staring towards Pidge and knowing she knew what he was talking over.
"I know someone. Knew a few other someone's two who helped shipped this over in time. None of you need to know anymore than that" Pidge muttered back with a small shrug, acting as if the box full of food that was still eatable, fresh and some a rare treat wasn't such a big idea.
"As someone who is scared shitless of Pidge, I agree with that statement. I'm happy sleeping in unaware bliss of his evil doings" Keith perked up as he carried on cleaning his rifle, preferring to be able to sleep at night by not knowing over his friend's ways.
