Side Note: This is a Hunk and Lance friendship Christmas one-shot. I couldn't find any photos over just the two of them in a Christmas setting.

Sharing a dorm meant they could spend Christmas day togehter and do it any style they desired without having to fret over upsetting roommates.

Neither had much money, the Garrison covered a handful of costs and their parents couldn't really send money over. More so when the Garrison gave a small amount of a wage during their training years before finally giving them the promised wage once they've passed training.

It left them both carefully counting their savings, taking out enough to keep a decent amount in their savings for anything the might need in a later day or money to travel home if they flunk out.

But they had enough between them to try and make Christmas as special as it would be at home.

It started with the tiny plastic tree that they won at the Christmas raffle in town. It was no bigger than Hunk's hand and had a couple of fake decorations already glued on. The tree was a craft from some community art club in town, they always raffled their items once a month for those that didn't want to keep their craft once finished making it.

Neither had hoped for the tree, they'd both paid $1 each for a ticket in hopes to get something Christmas-y that they could decorate their dorm room with. The dorm wasn't big enough for an ceiling decorations or long ones. Plus, they weren't technically allowed to put up posters or photos until they're moved into housing on camp once they stood as passed soldiers to the Garrison.

Meaning any and all decorations had to be something they could put on their desks, shared shelfs or on the floor tucked out on the way of any toes.

Next came the Christmas jumpers, no themed agreed on as they both just wanted to pick one they'd be comfortable in or liked. Lance going for a terrible pun Christmas jumper while Hunk went for a more cute and heart warming Christmas jumper.

That left the pair of them having to find Christmas pyjama's, neither planning to get dressed until they had to head out for their meals. And even then they're planning to wear their pyjama's underneath their uniforms.

But headwear was allowed with uniform. Leaving Hunk to grab a pair of reindeer ears headband and Lance to grab a Santa hat.

Christmas lights were tangled along the middle plank railing of their bunk bed. Lights on once they return from training and turned off at bed time.

Christmas knick-knack all placed around their dorm and giving them some Christmas spirit. Photo frames with their families inside were wrapped with tinsel and their shared bathroom door handle had a Christmas star ordainment hanging from it.

A few badly drawn pictures were left leaning against the wall on their desks, fake fires and other Christmas sights they were both use to seeing at their homes.

It wasn't much but it was special to them.

Their first Christmas away from their families and they had managed to bring Christmas to their sad little simply dorm.

Christmas cards and presents sent from family arrived closer to the holiday, leaving them to stack them in the corner of the room and stand their tiny tree on top. Both taking a photo together in front of the brightly and jolly wrapped presents, making sure the tree was seen. The family seemed to have had a good laugh when sent the photo.

It left the two planning the big day as the 25th grew closer and closer.

Christmas film's bought and stacked on the corner of a desk with them both signing out a laptop for the day on Christmas day. They'd be able to watch movies, listen to holiday music through youtube and just have as much fun as possible.

Both missed their love ones but both ended up spending Christmas say with family.

Their second family might not have been large but it was still family and both filled with warmth as they woke on up on Christmas day to a jolly and decorated home.

Even if they were late for breakfast, wearing their headbands, hats and jumpers and forgetting to have changed into their uniforms in their rush to catch the breakfast hours.

But the warning they were given by the officer would soon be framed and hanged up on their wall next year, tinsel wrapped around the edges.

A/N: It's a Christmas miracle, I learnt something new and corrected my very own mistake. I thought Nic-Nacks were spelled like that but today, while writing this up, I learnt that it's actual spelt as knick-knacks. You learn something new everyday.
