A/N: This is based between the Chapters "I'd Fall for Love" and "Winter Wonderland".
It never mentions when Christmas day passes or what month of winter they're in during that section of the game. Please just take this as a Christmas special and not apart for the main storyline.

Katie felt frozen as the world outside the window seemed to held a snow storm. Everything was a white blur and her breath held a chilly cloud whenever she breathed out.
The house was freezing and they couldn't eve build a fire even if they were lucky enough to have gained some fire wood or wooden chairs able to be burned. None of them could take their only shelter burning down in a fire nor would they be able to vent the smoke out safely either.
They've grabbed as much bedding as possible. Drowning Shiro in half of them alone as the basement wasn't the warmest spot but it was the safest and most sheltered. They'd have taken both Gunther and Rover down in the basement if it was possible.
For now, Katie stood staring out the window and watching the snow storm happening outside. Her limbs grown numb from the cold and she knew her teeth hasn't stopped clattering for the past five minutes.
Dressed in a winter's coat and gloves, even while inside and still filling the nip of the freezing temperature.
She didn't like hot summers but she missed the warmth of a nice sunny day.
Outside looked like Christmas, seemed magical.
But from where she stood, knowing her chances of freezing to death, it seemed like a cruel winter to her.
Downstairs Shiro is fighting for his life, his body almost losing the battle against the infection to his wound.
Keith was half starved, they all were, as trying to gather any eatable supplies were difficult and near impossible in this middle of nowhere lakeside.
She was frozen, rarely feeling warm enough to wiggle her toes and knowing it wasn't going to grow any hotter for months to come.
She knew Christmas was near but no spiritual cheer or miracles were going to reach them here.
The only holiday joy they'll feel if by surviving each night after closing their eyes, unsure if living was any kinder than merely dying in their sleep now.
"You'll turn into ice if you stay so close to the windows" Keith warned as he entered the room that once stood as the living space, having noticed how long she's been gone from the basement.
"I'll be heading out as soon as the storm seems to settle. We need the food" Katie stated as she kept her eyes glued to the window, arms tightly crossed as she tried to huddling in her own body heat.
