"I'll just leave you two alone then." Garrett said, turning and leaving us in our little spot in the hallway.
Sebastians eyes drifting up and down looking me over, finally looking down at my legs, his face going white looking at the dark spider webs that coaxed my legs.
"Sebastian...." I said, holding my arms close to myself, shaking down the shiver that ran down my spine. "I need to know-"
"Anne's curse is gone. She's back at home in Hogsmeade with Ominis looking after her."
I took a breath of relief, letting myself sit back down on the bed, careful of the glass on the floor.
We sat in an uncomfortable silence, my deep breath and the creek of the bed causing it to break.
"Sebastian.. I'm so sorry.... This wasn't how I imagined it...."
He's eyes perked up at my words. "Once again Alora, there you are again saying sorry.. I.. I-I think-"
The large click of heels came across the floor, causing me and Sebastian to both look up.
"Ms. Circe! You need to be resting, Mr. Sallow you need to remove yourself immediately. Oh, dear look at the mess!" Ms. Chaudry the school nurse stated, pointing down at all the glass.
"But Ms. Chaudry I need to talk-"
"Do you need detention again Mr. Sallow?! I said out!" she shot back at him with a glare. He rolled his eyes at her before turning his way out of the small space. He stopped looking over his shoulder eyeing me, leaving me sitting there watching him leave.
"Let's get you cleaned up, yes?" Ms. Chaudry stated, yanking her wand out of her hair and conjuring a bowl of warm water and a cloth, drabbing my bleeding fingers. "You have some dear friends Miss Circe. He hasn't left the hospital wing since you got here."
"Who Miss Chaudry?"
"Mr. Sallow of course."
My heart sunk to my stomach. He's been here this whole time?
"How many days have I been here?" I asked.
She sighed "Three days."
I looked in the direction in which he left. Uneasiness taking a toll.
*
The next day I got released from the infirmary. Nobody else visited me at that point of time, I was curious as if why Sebastian never came back around since I was told he was around for nearly three days.
I felt like there was little tiny parts of my memory that were torn apart and spit out. I remember falling back down on the sand, too exhausted to stand but after that everything was fuzzy. I needed to know what happened. I needed to talk to Ominis before I faced Sebastian again. I needed answers.
I slipped on one of my school uniforms, brushed out my black hair, pushing back the pieces that rounding my face, letting the rest fall down my back.
"Ms. Circe, are you decent?" Miss Chaudry asked behind the wall cover.
"Yes, come in."
I sat down on the bed, slowly pulling on my black boots that tied up in the front, almost reaching my knees.
"Alora... if I'm being honest. Those dark veins do worry me. I have sent your blood to one of my colleagues in hopes to get some answers. You need to monitor this. I saw the lines that are dissipated on your hands, it's unfortunate to tell you this but....I'm not sure if there is a cure for your condition. Your friends wouldn't give me a ton of information as to what's going on so I'm hoping you will shed some light so I can try to help you."
I took a deep breath, pulling my Hufflepuff robes over my shoulders, adjusting it correctly. "It's not worth really getting into Ms. Chaudry, but I appreciate if we keep this between us. Do what you must but... there's not much you can do at this point. This is.... irreversible."
Her eyes softened to my words, nodding her head in understanding.
"I'll be in touch Ms. Circe." she said as she smiled.
She left me alone to my thoughts, turning away and heading down the hallway.
So much has changed. Where do I even go from here.
I'm so lost.
**
My body was sore as I made my way to the large doors of the infirmary. Waving goodbye to Ms. Chaudry as she attended to another student.
I pushed open the large doors heading down the corridor, heading over to a floo flame statue. I grabbed some of the floo flame powder in my hands, the dark ashy color staining my fingers, watching the green flame flicker back and forth.
"Off on another adventure are we?" the statue asked.
I laughed slightly "Hopefully not for a long time." I said, "Hogsmeade." I said throwing the powder at the flames. I closed my eyes letting the green flames engulf my body.
I blinked, opening my eyes to see Ollivander's shop in front of my eyes. Watching the snow slowly fall on the roof. The small tiny snowflakes landing on my face, kissing my eye lashes as they fell.
It had started to become dark out, the sun had just started to set on the horizon. The sky cloudy from the snow fogging its way.
I made my way to Anne's house, listening to my feet crunch against the heavy snow. Cursing at myself from the lack of clothes I had chosen to wear. I pushed my robe closer to myself hopeful to find some warmth.
I looked past the small hill, watching Ominis and Anne play in the snow. Her long hair falling down her face, the wetness of it getting stuck to her face as she laughed, smashing Ominis face with a snowball.
He ran after her with a playful look, she squealed with delight as she ran away from him. They chased each other till he got ahold of her sleeve, holding onto to each other with laughter coming out of their mouths.
My cheeks grew warm watching their interaction. Like nothing had happened, nothing had phased them, like no time had passed, they just went back to the way they used to be. Friends, maybe lovers. But they were happy and that brought me some peace.
