My heart sank as I watched him in defeat at my words. I knew he was only trying to do what was best for me but sometimes the right decision isn't always the easy one.
He took a step closer to me, bringing up his wand with him as he pulled a piece of my hair that had strayed away from my braid, putting it behind my ear in a sweet manor. Causing my heart to stop as I felt his breath fan my face.
He sighed in distress, "Fine, if that's what you really want, I'll leave. Just promise me one thing, that you'll come back to me."
"Ominis...." I said lowly.
"Promise me, now."
"I-I promise."
He smiled slightly at me, coming a little closer as he kissed my right cheek. Leaving me breathless as he turned quickly and left me, hearing his footsteps leave my aching heart.
"Ominis, where are you going?!" Garreth yelled.
Ominis didn't turn around, as the fog seemed to swallow him whole as he continued to walk down the pathway of the forbidden forest.
A small tear escaped my cheek as I watched him leave. Maybe this would be best, so he wouldn't get hurt.
I took a deep breath, wiping the tear away with the back of my sleeve turning to face the group. Sebastian's catching my gaze as his eyes softened at my flustered cheeks.
"Let's do this." I stated.
*
"Bombarda!"
"Confringo!"
"Glacious!"
Shield after shield after shield we put up against the duelist that were giving us quite the hard time. I turned to Sebastian at my side as he flew one of the dark wizards into a tree causing him to shatter into a million pieces.
He turned and smiled at me as I watched him take on more dark wizards in ease.
I turned to look behind me, noticing Poppy and Garreth back-to-back throwing multiple spells, occasionally Poppy combusting the locked cages of the unicorns, setting them free as they ran. Occasionally a few purposely made an attempt to run over a few of the dark wizards that kept them locked away. Giving us a slight advantage.
"Now that's more like it!" Sebastian yelled as he watched a unicorn run over a few men, sending them running for the caves below.
I laughed slightly as I pulled up my shield, taking on another duelist that had appeared in front of me.
"Protego!" I yelled.
"Accio!" The man yelled, but he wasn't quick enough.
"Incendio!"
As the men started to taper off, I went to the nearest unicorn, her long white mane flowing back in forth as she stomped on the ground in anger. Frightened of the fire that seemed to overtake the small area from the multitude of spells being sent.
"Easy girl, don't worry I'll get you out." I said in a calm voice.
"Bombarda!" I yelled pointing my wand at the lock causing it to combust into tiny little pieces. I opened the gate, letting her go free as she ran into the forbidden forest. Her white flowy tail behind her as she nickered in delight, happy to finally be free.
"Sebastian!!!" I yelled, "Go help Poppy and Garreth! I got this!"
He nodded to me in understanding, rushing over to their side to help fight off the remaining dark wizards.
I rushed to another cage, opening it up quickly as the last remaining unicorn was freed.
I smiled brightly, watching the remaining unicorns run off into the fog in the forest. We did it. We saved them!
