"Protego!"

"Bombarda!"

"Protego!"

"Confringo!"

"Protego!"

The spells were coming at us fast, my eyes on the troll waiting for them to unleash him knowing my focus would change once they let set him free on us.

We stood our ground, Ominis and Sebastian taking the blows I couldn't when they shot spells at me. Sebastian occasionally stepping in front of me to protect me with a shield if I couldn't get it up in time.

"Sebastian!" The shield went up around me. "I told you to stay back, you're going to get yourself killed!" I yelled from behind him.

"Diffindo!" Sebastian yelled, sending a blast to the man to the left of him, slicing through him as he went flying backwards, crumbling into a million pieces as he hit the tree not too far away. He turned to me with a smirk on his face. "Say again?"

My heart pounded deeply in my chest, feeling the butterflies in my stomach come alive. The same feeling I used to get with him when we fought alongside each other in the old days when we were fighting the many ashwinders and goblins. The surge of power we brought with each other as we fought side by side made every cast of magic feel more powerful. Almost like we were more sure of what we were doing. The confidence we both had made us feel invincible.

"Glacious!"

"Protego!"

"Hey if you two don't mind we are in the middle of a fight here!" Ominis yelled from my right side as he tried blocking Glacious that was shot at him, his shield had came up just in time.

"Depulso!" I yelled, shooting the spell at the man Ominis was up against. It shot the man, his body tumbling against the ground as it shot him backwards.

"I've had enough of this! Release the troll!" The middle man yelled. The silver chains immediately got released vanishing in air, the man pointing in our direction as the troll began to charge in our direction.

"Watch out!" I yelled at Ominis, us both lunging just in time in the other direction of the pathway. Our bodies rolling on the hard snowy gravel, groaning in discomfort from the impact of the hard ground.

I looked up in panic as Sebastian managed to jump in the opposite direction from the rampage the troll had went on, trying to run us over with brute force.

Sebastian got up quickly, running over to us, helping me and Ominis up in haste as we watched the troll turn, pounding his spear in the ground in irritation.

Out of the corner of my eyes, I saw a bright red light coming in the direction of where the cloaked men were, our focus had been on the troll for this short time and already had forgotten the men that were still after us.

"Protego!" I yelled holding a shield over the three of us.

"Sebastian, Ominis, I got the troll you two take on the others."

They both nodded their heads at me, before returning their attention back to the fight.

The troll had begun stomping his feet on the ground, causing it to slightly shake from the impact he had on the earth.

I took a deep breath, gripping my wand tightly as I started to feel the ancient magic come closer to the surface. I wanted to get this over with quickly so I could focus on Sebastian and Ominis.

I focused the power on my wand, feeling it surge through me till it was at its peak. "Bombarda!" I yelled at the troll, seeing it move its arm over its body to protect itself.
