Chapter 47: About bloody time

*Sebastian POV*

Ms. Chaudry rushed over to her side, hearing the clicks of her heels hit the floor as she grabbed a small flashlight, shining it bright in her eyes to see any pupal change, looking down at her bloody bandage at her side. Relief finally washing over her.

"Look." she said as she motioned for me to see.

She lifted for me to view under the blanket, pulling the cotton to the side as it showed her skin patching itself bit by bit.

I let a deep breath escape me, letting the calmness finally take over my heart. It was finally healing, meaning there was a good chance she was going to be okay.

I looked over at her face, her eye lashes flickering slightly, still closed as she moaned a slight breath.

"Alora, dear, open your eyes." Ms Chaudry said.

My heart picked up as I watched her respond to Ms. Chaudry.

Her beautiful eyes finally appeared under the lid as she squinted from the light. I looked over at Ominis who stood in complete shock as his face became completely white, almost like he was going to be sick as he rushed to her other side.

"Where.....ugh where wh-... am I?" Alora asked softly as her eyes began to scan the room.

"Dear you got hurt and you've been in the infirmary, don't make any quick movements, I'll be right back."

I moved out of the way for Ms. Chaudry to pass as I finally fell down to my knees before her. Exhaustion hitting me all at once as I viewed her scared face, watching the tears brim.

"Shhh shhh sweetheart, its okay." I said softly as I grabbed her cold hand with mine.

"It.... it hurts... badly Seb-..I-"

I scooted my chair closer to her so my face could be near hers. Leaning on the bed so that I could stroke her cheek.

"I know I know... it'll pass I promise. Jus-just relax for a moment."

Her eyes followed to Ominis as he stood by her bedside, looking down at her.

"Om-Ominis..." she spoke in a whisper as she whimpered from the pain.

He breathed deeply as he took a step closer to her, relief washing over his face as she called his name.

"I'm here... i'm right here." He said as he sat next to her on the bed.

"I'm-I... I'm so sorry-"

"Oh my dear, you have nothing to be sorry for. If anybody needs to be sorry it's me.... I should have never left you...."

Tears shed down her pale face, a sob escaping her mouth.

"Please don't cry, my dear. I can't stand to see you sad..." Ominis said.

Pain seemed to overtake her face as she tried to move around some in the bed.

"Alora please you shouldn't move, your body is still healing."

She moaned in agony, as she tried to sit up. I came to her side immediately, pushing some pressure on her shoulder to get her to lay back down. "Alora no, you need to rest please."

Her eyes dueled mine, her stubbornness coming through before she finally caved. Laying her head back in the pillow closing her eyes in uneasiness.

"What happened." She asked quietly.

I gulped as me and Ominis looked at eachother. Not sure how to answer her.

"The spider was poisonous, my dear. And... Anne's curse, well it didn't allow your body to heal correctly. It.... slowed the process and in other words... we almost lost you to blood loss."

She breathed in deeply, flinching at the last part.

I felt the ache in my stomach, feeling as though some of guilt was on me. She took Anne's curse for me, she could have died because of me, I couldn't save her because of me. Feeling tears brim my eyes reliving in every moment of anguish that I've put her through. I felt a tear drop down on the sheet, looking up to see Alora sad eyes watching me.

Ominis looked in between the two of us, noticing the pain we were both in as our eyes drinked eachother in.

"I'll give you two a moment." Ominis spoke as he leaned down, kissing Alora's cheek.

I heard his footsteps leave our area as our eyes were still connected to eachother.

She squeezed my hand softly.

"Don't-don't do this to yourself... not again Sebastian... please. For me."

I grabbed her cold hand more firmly in mine, bringing it up to my mouth so I could kiss it. Holding it to my face as I took in her words.

"I wish... so badly to not feel this way but I can't-"

Her eyes opened in panic as she gripped my hand firmly, tears shedding down her eyes again as she winced from the pain at her side.

"Don't-don't leave me again..I-I can't- I won't be able to take it pleas-"

My heart sank to my stomach realizing that I had just made her believe that I was going to leave again, hate her again, ignore her again.

I sat closer to her, taking her cheek in my hand softly, stroking away the tears with my thumb as she continued to cry.

"Sweetheart... I won't, I swear it. I'm not going anywhere.. never again."

Her eyes studied mine, as she blinked away the tears. Her breath coming down as she began to relax under the pillow. Her eyes finally closing from the exhaustion.

"I'll let you get some rest, sleep well Alora." I said as I came up to kiss her forehead.

I got up to leave when I heard her voice speak up once more before I turned the corner to grab Ms. Chaudry.

"It was about bloody time..." she whispered, a slight smile coming upon her lips.

I froze in my spot, parting my lips, feeling the wind almost get knocked out of me. She heard me confess.

I chuckled slightly, a smile finally coming upon my face as I looked at hers.

"And you'll never let me live it down."

She smiled at my comment, finally letting sleep overtake her.

"Goodnight.... Alora."
