Present day
*Alora POV*
I straightened by red bow slightly behind myself, fixing it as I sat in front of the warm fire that blazed in front of me. Taking in as much warmth as I could. The common room felt colder than usual. Nobody but me had stayed around Christmas this year. They all went home to spend it with their friends and families. Sitting around a beautiful Christmas tree, opening presents, watching the snow fall around them.
Zuzu chirped at me, causing me to jump out of my thoughts and I petted the sweet fur, seeing her eyes close as she enjoyed the sensation.
"Why can't life be as simple as an owl, huh? Why does life have to be... so difficult." I said under my breath, feeling the confusion and nervousness take over as I looked up at the clock. It was almost ready for me to meet up with Ominis.
I breathed deeply, getting up from my comfortable spot on the couch as my feet led me out of the common room, my boots clicking against the hard wood floors of the barrel.
I walked up spiraling staircase, finding Ominis in a dark green button-down shirt with black pants that compliment him. His beautiful blonde hair slicked back with his wand out in front of him. His eyes looking off into the distance.
I smiled as I watched him curiously, my heart rate beating quickly in my chest, I knew I was nervous not knowing what this night would bring but hoping maybe it would help me. Help me decide who I needed to be with.

I giggled as Ominis grabbed my hand as we shot up the many stairs to the astronomy tower.
"Where are you taking me?!" I yelled, almost completely out of breath as we pushed forward up the stairs.
"You'll see my dear, just wait. Can't spoil the whole surprise."
I felt the shiver of the cold reach my bones again as we reached the top, the sky had darkened, and all you could see were the million stars that shined brightly from the balcony.
In the middle of balcony was a plaid red and black blanket laid out, a few candles nearby to just give the room just enough light. A picnic basket to the side and it looked like an electric fireplace in front of it that was already brewing up heat.
"Oh Ominis.... this is beautiful." I said, taking a step forward as my hands met the railing. Looking out over the beautiful landscape of Hogwarts, occasionally feeling the wind blow, hearing the wolves out in the distance call out for each other.
I turned back to look at him smiling, watching as he grabbed another blanket that was draped over his arm.
"I'm glad you like it. Amit was lucky enough to let me borrow it for the night."
I laughed slightly, "He is obsessed with this place that's for sure. Although... I'm not surprised. It truly is beautiful."
He smiled, "It sure is."
I felt my cheeks heat up as he continued to stare at me.
I took a step forward, moving towards him as he put his hand out to me to take, turning me around and draping the blanket around my shoulders.
"Thank you...."
We sat down peacefully on the blanket, letting the surrounding sounds take in full. The wind, the howling, the flickering of the candles.
"Won't you be cold?" I asked, trying to break the silence.
He shook his head, "Don't worry dear, the heater is keeping me plenty warm."
