We quickly reached the undercroft, slipping past the prefects with the disillusionment spell Sebastian had taught me last year. I had mentioned the room of requirement, but it was too far with too many prefects and teachers lurking about still in the halls.
Once the gates shut behind us, we made our way towards the couches, looking at the fire that had diminished.
I hugged my arms closer to myself feeling the chill from the room come over me.
"Damn it, the fire is out isn't it."
I pulled out my wand, pointing towards the fireplace. "Confringo."
The magic left my wand, jolting into the wood as it immediately caught fire.
Ominis sighed heavily, "Well I guess that's one way to do it."
I smiled slightly, taking a seat on the couch closest to the fire. Laying my maps and books on the coffee table that was in front of us. Letting my back slip into the cushions. Closing my eyes as the familiar throbbing ache of a headache sprung quickly.
Ominis weight of the couch dipped as he took a seat next to me as the silence fell in between the two of us.
"Alora, you know-"
"I know what you are going to say Ominis." I said quietly, opening my eyes as I turned my head so I was looking at him. "So please, save me the lecture."
"How did you know that was exactly NOT what I was going to say?"
I frowned at him, "No lecture? Really?"
He shook his head, his eyes landing on mine as he turned to face me.
"No, actually Alora, I would have loved to watch you beat her into oblivion till I realized how much she really upset you."
I pinched my eyes shut, remember all the words that had spit out of her mouth, remembering Professor Fig.
"I just lost it. She had no right."
He sighed, "Your right, she had no grounds."
"Shes such a fucking........UGH! I just wanted to wipe that stupid look off her face, watch her fly back into a book case or.... something!" I groaned in frustration.
Ominis chuckled slightly as he grabbed my wrist, forcing me to look at him.
"As much as I'd love to say she definitely would have deserved it Alora, getting into trouble wouldn't have been worth it."
"Yeah....... yeah I know." I sighed heavily. Feeling Ominis rub my wrist with his thumb, his way of trying to calm me down. " One of these days, I'll make sure she get what she deserves"
He stopped, pulling back his hand as his eyes focused on the warmth of the fire.
"Your starting to sound like Sebastian, when you should just let it go Alora."
I shook my head, frustration going deep within myself.
"No, not this time. Not when she has the audacity to say that about him, and not only that, but forcing rumors that I'm sleeping with everyone in the castle for merlin's sake..." I said my voice trailing off.
"Hmmm....... sounds like her for sure. But just ignore her..... you are the only one who knows the real truth."
"Doesn't mean everyone else does, Ominis." I said lowly.
"Everyone knows you did everything you could have done, nobody is blaming you for what happened last year."
My arm rested on the sofa, shielding my eyes as I felt the tears start to shake loose.
