Jade's Situation

Auditorium...

Jade's POV

I sighed and tried to remove the rope around my wrists. What a humbag! I guess I'm gonna stay here for a while.

Flashback...

2:13pm

Nagbabasa ako ng libro habang nag lalakad nang may tumulak sa akin papasok ng janitor's closet. What the heck is this? May naglagay ng panyo sa bibig ko kaya hindi ako makasalita. Iniligay nila ang mga kamay ko sa likod at tinalian ang mga ito, pati na rin ang aking mga paa. I tried to hold them slightly apart but not so much that my captor notices and I did the same thing with my ankles. Damn it! I'm certain that my opponent set this up. Wait till I get out of here you cheater. Ang pinaka ayaw ko kasi sa lahat ay ang mga mandadaya.

Tiningnan ko sila ng masama, medyo madilim sa kwarto kaya hindi ko maaninag ang mga mukha nila, pero nakita ko kung anong color ng kanilang uniform logo which is blue. They are Class-D students. "Pare, kailangan na natin umalis. Mamaya may magtaka kung bakit tayo nasa janitor's closet," sabi ng isa sa kanila. "Pakialam ba nila? Malay mo, kumukuha tayo ng panlinis," sagot naman ng kasama niya.

"Ay basta, umalis na tayo. Allergic ako sa floorwax eh!"sabi ng isang lalaki habang tinatakpan ang ilong niya. "Teka, tanggalin na lang natin ang panyo sa bibig niya. Wala naman makakarinig kasi lahat ng mga estudyante ay nasa auditorium. By the time na may makarinig sa kaniya, tapos na ang event," he suggested.

Wait until I capture these bastards! "Sige, Miss pasensya ka na, we need to do this. May benefits na maibibigay sa amin," he stated. Pagkatapos nila tanggalin ang panyo sa bibig ko. I didn't talk, because I will just make things worse if I threaten them. I just better shut up. Noong umalis na sila, I noticed na ang lock ay nasa loob.

While trying to get these ropes off me, I heard footsteps. Hindi ko napigilan na ngumiti, maybe I could spare some time to enjoy my situation. Tumunog ang watch ko which means 2:30 pm na.

I still have 20 minutes. Minsan lang ito, hindi na ulit ako siguro makukulong sa isang kwarto habang nakatali ang mga kamay at paa. I should grab the opportunity. Lumapit ako sa pinto at itinalikod ang upuan, since maluwag ang pagkakatali, nagawa kong igalaw ang aking mga kamay. I knocked, "May tao ba diyan? Pwede po ba akong tulungan?" I asked.

Wait, I need to pretend that I'm panicking for it to be realistic. I can sense na papalapit na siya sa door, I can see that person's shadow underneath it. I knocked again. "May tao ba diyan?" tanong niya. It's a girl, I grinned and wondered what she will do to help me. "Yeah, can you help me open the door? It's locked from the inside and my hands and feet are tied on a chair. Can you find a way?"paliwanag ko.

I tried to make my voice like I'm scared and I don't know what to do. Hindi siya umimik, I guess natataranta na siya or humingi siya ng tulong sa malayo. I sighed, akala ko magiging masaya ito or exciting tulad sa mga libro. Looks like it's over. "Anong name mo?" tanong niya.

Napatahimik ako sa sinabi niya. Mmmmm, what an odd question. I can't detect any hint of anxiety or dismay. Na cucurious tuloy ako kung anong kind ng student siya. I grinned, "My name is Jade. Pwede mo ba akong tulungan? May match kasi eh. Kaso may nag set up sa akin. Kinulong nila ako dito. I guess my opponent is a cheater," I shared.

I can feel na she's trying to unlock the doorknob. "Just wait," she uttered. What an enthralling student. Pagkatapos niyang mabuksan ang pinto, lumapit siya sa akin at kaagad na tinanggal ang rope sa aking wrists and ankles. Lumabas kami ng janitor's closet. I looked at her hand to see what she used to unlock the door and I saw a hairpin. This student is really interesting. "Salamat talaga, hindi ko alam kung anong gagawin ko kung hindi mo ako tinulungan," sabi ko.

She smiled, "Wala iyon, mahilig akong buksan ang pinto ng kwarto ng nanay ko at kumupit sa wallet niya noong bata ako hehehehe, biro lang, at saka kaya mo naman makalabas ng sa iyo lang eh. You just want to be entertained".

I acted like I didn't know anything, "Huh? What do you mean?" tanong ko. "Well nahalata ko lang noong bago kita tulungan, I heard a knock on the door. Since nakatali ang mga kamay mo, I know you're not capable of doing it. Noong lumapit ako sayo at hindi pa kita natutulungan, I can hear and feel that you're not panicking at all. When you knew na malapit ko na mabuksan ang pinto, nagpapanic ka na which is odd kasi dapat you're already relieved kasi may tumutulong na sayo. Lastly, maluwag ang pagkakatali sayo at madali ka lang makaalis pero hindi ka nag pumilit makawala. It's like you're kinda enjoying what's happening to you. You turn a bad situation into a good one. I'm sure that someone really did set you up, pero you also want to test something, I'm not sure what," she imparted. I saw that she was dismayed dahil sa kanyang mga sinabi. "Ay uhh, umm nalaman ko lang yun kasi mahilig akong manuod ng movies about mystery. May ganito na kasi na scene eh. Hehehe", paliwanag niya.

I looked at my watch, oh my, I only have 7 minutes. When I was about to face her, napansin ko ang kanyang uniform and I was stunned. I smirked ," You're a Class-F student? Mmmmm Interesting. I'm curious to know more about how you easily discovered and solved it, pero since may 7 minutes na lang ako para makaabot sa match. I will just deal with it later. Thanks for helping me, see yah."

Tumalikod na kaagad ako. I'm not really worried about the competition. I'm more concerned of what Johanna will do to me. I'm dead once the match is over. Masyado akong na distract sa nangyari kanina. I'm now scared. TT_TT

Meanwhile, at the auditorium

Third person's POV

Lumapit si Johanna kina Greg and Helen, "Can you guys look for her? Ten minutes na lang and her time limit will end and we can't do anything about it but to declare Ms. Lionette as the winner," sabi niya. Tumingin si Greg kay Helen. " Okay, Let's go Helen," saad ni Greg.

Tumango si Helen at umalis na silang dalawa para hanapin si Jade. Hindi pa rin mapakali si Johanna pati na rin ang mga kasamahan niya. "Don't worry. I know Jade won't let her win.", sabi ni Matthew. Tumango na lang si Johanna and tumingin kay Eric. Makikita mo na kalma lang siya at hindi nag papanic.

Nakasalubong nina Greg and Helen si Jade sa corridor. "Where have you been?" sabi ni Helen. "As usual, trickery," sagot ni Jade. "Pumasok ka na, may 4 minutes ka na lang bago ang deadline," saad ni Greg. Tumango si Jade at tumungo sa auditorium. "Looks like your Top 10 is not going to come. You might as well be done with it and declare me as a winner than wasting other students time for nothing," Loretta said and crossed her arms.

Eric sighed and went to the center of the stage with a microphone on his hand. "It seems Ms. San Diego is not going to come. So that means, Ms. Loretta Lionette will be our new..."

"She's here!"
