I hear Devins alarm go off, I usually hate mornings but today was going to be a good one because summer has finally begun. You will never see me this excited to wake up for a stupid lecture for school. I got up quickly and put a record on, my favorite record "Black Sabbath" , it was just their debut album. They were new and were going to be performing at the festival too so it made sense to play them.
"Turn it up" Devin screams and hits the wall next to mine, he slept next door
I pump up the volume to the max almost popping my ear drums but it was worth it.My luggage consisted of bra tops, denim shorts, denim jackets, and last but not least leather jackets. I am only missing one thing, the most important thing to ever exist to me, my one and only love, my guitar. I left it in devins house everytime I had to go back to college because my parents hated the idea of me learning anything with music because it wasn't very girl of me but I lived for this type of stuff. It was an acoustic guitar, I could stare at it all day and play it all day. Devin got me it as a present last summer and I immediately got hooked on it, Devin plays bass and our dream together is to play in a band or for any of our favorite artist.
I feel a pat on my shoulder as I set my guitar down. It was Dua she was saying something but I couldn't hear her so I walked to the speaker and lowered it down.
"Can you repeat what you said" I say
"I said that's a wicked guitar you got there" she says
Wicked is a weird word so I don't really know if she complimenting me or not it's probably slang over at her place or something.
"Is wicked a good or a bad thing" I ask
"Wicked means cool I should try to adjust a tad more here I assume" she laughs
"Eh just use basic words but thanks she's a beauty I missed her all year long" I say as I continue to stare at it
"You ladies ready?" Robbie interrupts standing by the door
"Been ready" I say
"Y/n I need to speak with you and Devin I'll met you in the kitchen" Robbie saysI walk into the kitchen and Devin looks at me with annoyed eyes because you can tell he so badly wants to get on the road already. He had his bass case already attached on his back so you knew he was urgently ready to go.
"Okay you two we have rules and I need you to obey every single one of them okay" Robbie says
God "rules" I hate that word it's been used my entire life. We both nod although we both know we won't really obey them at all.
"Dad you realize we are going to the festival to have fun not to be respecting rules" Devin says
I'm not saying anything because he isn't my dad so he can just tell me to screw off and I won't be able to go but Devin was totally right.
"They aren't hard rules just simple but important ones"
"Well can you hurry it up" Devin says
"Dua is very special and I don't want you to give her any drugs or put her in any danger she's new here so she doesn't really understand the gist of things"
"Isn't that your job though I mean you run these things so maybe just tell the drug doers and sellers to piss off" Devin says
"We both know that won't stop them so just listen boy" Robbie replies
"Okay fine you can trust us" he replies
"You got that too y/n?" He says staring into my soul
"Yes sir" I give a soft fake smileWe finally start heading to the festival and Devin right away brings out dope like cmon Devin the one rule we have to obey but I'm not going to complain nor snitch. I take some and roll it on the parchment paper in his glove compartment. The whole time I can feel Dua just staring at us clueless on what to do.
"Are you allowed to smoke those roach tips?" She ask
Devin and me just burst out laughing because "roach tips"? I stop laughing right away though because she actually seemed offended by it and me and Devin just stare at each other.
"I feel bad now" I whisper to him over the music
"Me too maybe offer her some it's just weed it won't kill her" he says
I just shrug as in yea why not?
I jump to the back seat.
"Do you want a try?" I ask her
"I don't but thanks"
