The group walked away from a set of houses that apparently belonged to rich people.

"Another full size!" Dustin smiled. "Honestly, rich people are such suckers"

"Trust me,you have no idea" Aiden replied as he bit into a bar of Three musketeers.

"Wait, you're not rich right?" Dustin asked Max,scared he might've offended her. The redhead just shook her head.

"No," Max said. "I live up Old Cherry Road"

"Oh" Dustin said.

"No, it's fine I mean the street's great for skateboarding" Max shrugged.

"Yeah, totally tubular" Dustin playfully responded, causing Aiden to laugh and shake his head.

"Oh my God..." Aiden said between laughs.

"What?" Dustin between him and Max. "Did I say that right?"

"No, it's like 'totally tubular!'" Lucas said, imitating a surfer.

"No no no,stop!" Aiden put his hands up. "We ain't doing this right now"

"Thank you"  Max giggled. "My ears were starting to hurt"

The redhead then turned her attention to Aiden. "Hey, I'm sorry Billy almost ran your friends over earlier today"

Aiden internally winced as he recalled the event; of course he knew it would happen but he'd decided to go home without them anyway. A pang of guilt ate at his stomach as he realized his mistake.

"It's okay," Aiden smiled at her. "It's not your fault"

Aiden looked behind them while the others kept talking, only to notice Will was gone.

Shit.

"Wait, where's..."

A split second later, the world around him flickered, cutting his sentence short. Aiden looked around him at the empty street, the blue and particle filled atmosphere of the upside down surrounding him again.

"Mike?!"

Aiden turned towards the sound of the voice.

"Mike!"

"Will!" Aiden called back, recognizing the boy's yells as he walked towards him.

"Aiden?" Will recognized his light-skin friend.

"Yeah, it's me" Aiden nodded.

"Why are we both in here again?" Will asked.

"I don't know..."

Low chittering and screeching could be heard from around them, both boys looked around but neither could tell where the sounds were coming from.

Aiden pulled Will close to himself as he knew what was coming in this scene. His brown eyes looked up as they me a huge figure emerging in the distance, towering above everything house in the town as it stood fully... A giant shadow like creature shaped like a spider, towering at least 50 storeys tall... And though it had no eyes,it seemed to be staring right at the two boys.

The mind flayer...

"Will..." Aiden said quietly. "Run"

"What?" Will asked.

"Run,now!" Aiden yelled, eyes still fixed on the monster as Will took to his heels.

Aiden's heart started beating faster as the creature seemed to start walking towards him. In an instant, his hands came together as if by muscle memory.
