"Wheeler residence, speak now or forever hold your peace"
"Aiden Wheeler?"
"Yeah... who's asking?"
"Let's just say I'm a secret admirer"
"Oh really..."
Aiden had a blank expression on his face as he held the phone. He didn't have the strength or time for this. It was summer vacation and things just started to feel normal in Hawkins again.
"Gimme a name or I hang up right now"
"Don't hang up!" The female voice on the other end said, a little panicked. "I can't tell you my name but I can tell you I've known about you for a while and we've had light conversations"
"Everyone has light conversations with someone" Aiden rolled his eyes. "What's your point?"
"Last time I checked, you were dating someone... The skater girl. She's the cone you kissed during the snowball right"
"If you're talking about Max, she and I are still very much together" Aiden stated. "Happily I might add"
"I'm still interested"
"Is your reception bad or are you just dense?" Aiden furrowed his eyebrows. "i have a girlfriend"
"She doesn't have to know"
"Nigga?" Aiden had a disgusted look on his face.
"We can just hook up, no emotions attached" the girl continued. "if it's about looks, I'm hot and willing"
"Bitch, I'm willing to punch you through this phone if you don't shut–"
"Curls what's taking so long?" Came Max's voice from the couch. She'd come over to spend the day together, which they'd been perfectly happy doing till they were interrupted by this stupid call.
A smile creeped on Aiden's lips as he got an idea.
"Who was that?" The girl on the phone asked.
"Oh just my sister," Aiden said in a calmer voice. "stay on the line, I'll be back"
Replacing the phone, Aiden went back to Max who was still on the couch. She was covered in a blanket and karate kid was paused on the TV.
"Hey" Max smiled as she gave her boyfriend a quick kiss. "What took so long?"
"We have a little bit of a problem" Aiden looked at his girlfriend.
__________
About 5 minutes later, they were both close to the phone as Aiden picked up again.
"Hey, sorry that took so long" Aiden said. "I just rethought everything and y'know... I just might take you up on your offer"
"Really?" The girl said in excitement.
"Yeah, just one condition though " Aiden said.
"What is it?"
Aiden immediately took the phone off his ear and passed it to Max who immediately blew an air horn into the phone. The girl's scream from the other side was enough proof that it'd definitely shaken her up.
"Now listen, sweetheart" Max spoke into the phone with a sarcastic voice. "it's a good day, it's summer vacation and I'm not trying to get blood on my hands. I don't know you and we should keep it that way. Keep your horny ass away from my boyfriend cause if you so much as think of going near him or calling him again, Billy Hargrove will be at your door, do you understand?"
"I can't believe you told her!" The girl screeched from the other line. "I hope you both break up!"
Aiden blew the air horn into the phone this time as a response, earning another scream from the girl before Max hung up.
Both teens looked at each other for a second before bursting into laughter.
"The screams killed me" Max laughed.
"And I thought Lucas was loud" Aiden held his stomach as he tried to control himself.
"She sounded like a dying vulture" Max giggled, imitating the girl's screams.
"Is this what it feels like when you get catcalled?" Aiden cringed, hugging himself. "I feel violated"
"Yeah it sucks" Max giggled, kissing him on the cheek. "But as annoying as it is, it makes me know one thing for sure.. I somehow got the cutest guy in Hawkins"
"You're kidding, right?" Aiden looked at her. "if anyone's lucky here it's me. You look like you were carefully sculpted by a Greek god who decided to make a splitting image of themselves"
"What are you talking about?" Max rolled her eyes, blushing deeply. "is that supposed to be a pickup line?"
"No, it's supposed to be the truth" Aiden cupped her face. "I'm serious dude, fucking hell... There's nothing ordinary about you. Everything's perfect... Even that little squint you have when you smile"
"Where's all this confidence coming from?" Max raised her eyebrow and giggled.
"I have no idea" Aiden laughed and shook his head. The two stared at each other for a split second before locking lips. In a few seconds, Max's hand found the back of Aiden's head.
"Mm~" she hummed into his lips before they separated.
"Wait... What were we doing again?" Aiden asked, his eyes still locked on hers.
"The movie, you goofball" Max hit his chest softly with a laugh before both made their way back to the couch.
