"Not even the Gods above,
Could separate the two of us."

I got released from the hospital 4 days after I was admitted but was not cleared for work for another 5, so you can imagine how moody I was. The test results of the 2nd test were the same as the first which put even more doubt on me, but I know I take them every day and I won't stop.

Something isn't adding up.

I'm standing at the bar in Myles and I's apartment kitchen with all of my pills spilled out into their piles. One of my pills is pinched between two of my fingers and I'm examining it.

"Babe, I'm home. I brought take-out." Myles walks through the front door and sets his keys down in the blue clay tray that we made in pottery class a few months ago. I'm still examining my pill when he sets the two plastic bags on the counter and walks over to the sink to wash his hands.

"Babe, what are you doing?" I ignore him as I compare two pills next to each other. He wrings out his hands and then moves back to the island to pull out the food, starting with rice and then moving to egg rolls. He sets up the whole table before walking over to me and setting a soft hand on my back.

"Dinner, Love." He encourages me over but I refuse and scram away from his touch, and pick up a different pill.

A long sigh escapes his mouth as he watches me fumble around with the bottle. He finally gives up on getting me to sit down at the dinner table, so he sits down and starts eating by himself. A few minutes go by and I break the silence.

"Do these two pills look different?" He doesn't look up at my words, instead, he grabs another serving of rice.

"I don't know Raya." His voice is flat and dull as he takes a bite of his new rice.

"Myles, you didn't even look." He drops his fork onto his plate and looks up at me st frustration.

"I don't need to look to know that the pills are the same. I also don't need to look to know that you are going crazy, you are—"

I slam my hands on the table and look up at him with fire in my eyes. "Am I Myles, am I going crazy?"

There is a moment of silence between us before he scoffs and rubs his forehead. "Are you seriously implying that I did something to your medication? The medication that could kill you if you didn't take it every day."

The fire is instantly put out with guilt and I try to take back my accusation. "No, no, I didn't— No, I'm sorry Myles."

He sighs while pushing his food back and then stands up and grabs his phone and wallet.

"I'm going to bed, I have an early class tomorrow." He begins walking to our bedroom.

"Myles, I wasn't thinking. I'm sorry, please." I watch as he walks down the hallway and into our bedroom. He slams the door behind him making me jump in place.

I stand in place before turning around and throwing my fist on the bar, making the pills jump out of their place.

"Damnit"

I look over to the dinner that my lovely boyfriend, who I have been in love with for almost a year now, bought me and I start to clean it up. I put everything in the refrigerator so that I am hopeful we can eat tomorrow, and this time I won't blame him for trying to kill me.

I'm standing at the bar putting the pills back into their orange pill bottles. Once I'm done I twist the cap shut and set them in the corner of the bar for tomorrow. I lean against the island and just stare at the bottles. The bottle could have just ruined my relationship with one of the best men I have ever met in my whole life.
