I know that I should hate you
Pulled the knife out my back,
it was right where you left it
But your aim's kinda perfect,
I'll give you the credit

When I woke up I was in even more pain than I was before, obviously.

But now with the sun beating down on me and sand filling every part of my bloodied body, it felt like I was about to lose it.

Myles was literally dragging me back to the house if you could even call it that.

I was so tired. I had blood dripping out of my body, almost everywhere.

I was on the edge of death.

I let out a small groan and tried to pull my left arm out of his grip. I get his attention enough to make him drop and turn around towards me. "Seriously? Running away?" Myles says as he stands over me. I can only see the outline of his body since the sun is shining right on top of it. I can see the balled-up fist in one hand and what looks to be the outline of a gun in the other.

My breath is taken from me as I lay eyes on it. I can practically feel the bullet.

"Was this past year for nothing Raya? If you would have just stayed out of my fucking business, we would be fine right now. And don't get me started on your little friend Carlos. I swear, if I ever see him again, I'll be sure to put a bullet in his brain."

His words turn my pain into fear. I don't give a fuck about what happens to me, but my family?

"I'm- I'm sure it's gonna be the other— other way around." I let out with long tired breaths.

I can't really tell if it's the sun beating down on me or the anger shooting up from Myles's body but warmth is spreading through me fairly quickly. I know I'm running out of time.

I just need to hold on a little bit longer. Just
until—

Myles's eyes float around the side of my body as the sand picks up speed around him. The ground is vibrating. I feel a breeze from above me. My ears are ringing too loud to hear it but his aren't.

At least two helicopters float over him, the sounds of engines rushing through the land, sirens, wind, my low grunts of pain. Everything is so much for him.

He needs to get out of here.

But not before taking me down.

The team had been riding around the area for at least an hour. Another station had found the house and the guy, dead on arrival in his house. All they found was Raya was blood.

Everywhere.

Specifically, a smeared trail leading outside to the back door. From there it was a mystery where the two went.

The fire truck was silent as the team quickly made its way along one of the paths marked out by the police. Nancy and Tk both sat in the ambulance, not far behind the firetruck. Tk is in the passenger seat while Nancy is behind the wheel.
