"There's a million reasons
why I should give you up,
But the heart wants what it wants."──────⊱⁜⊰──────
"Okay, listen everyone! Buck and Hen, you are on rig duty. I want them spotless, inside and out. Chim and Gonzolas, floors and rails. Laurel and Paul; bathrooms." Everyone stares at the tall man with the clipboard. He looks down at it for a second but looks up when everyone is still standing there. "What are we waiting for people? Let's move!" Everyone scatters except Hen and Buck who walk towards him.
Eddie flips through the clipboard while the two just stare at him.
"You're acting like Buck when he was given a clipboard," Hen says, snatching the clipboard away from him, and making him jump at her. "What even is this?"
She flips through it, Buck looking over her shoulder to look at it.
"It's a list of everything we need to get done before Raya gets here."
Buck and Hen squint at him.
Eddie rolls his eyes, grabbing the clipboard back from her. "Raya would be an incredible addition to this team, so we got to make a good impression, and if that means making you wash the rigs 5 times then so be it."
Buck and Hen look at each other, a smirk building on both of their faces.
"What?!"
"Eddie Diaz has a crush." Buck laughs out.
Eddie rolls his eyes but he can't help the butterflies that dance around in his stomach. Eddie scoffs and looks down at the papers. "I do not."
Hen nods and points to him. "And he's panicking because maybe she won't like the firehouse and he will never see her again."
"I do not panic."
Buck is about to say something but a voice comes from behind him. "Guys if Eddie is asking you to do something, help him out and do it," Bobby tells the two. "Where do you want me?"
All eyes turn to Bobby who is looking at Eddie.
"Uh- Cap you don't need to do anything."
Bobby laughs and looks at Buck and Hen. "Who says I don't want to be your wingman."
Buck and Hen cover their mouths as they giggle.
Eddie's face drops.
Eddie avoids everyone's gaze while he shakes his head. "Just start cooking or something.

Once Myles and I finally got our hands on a rental car for the week, it was around 3:45. The firehouse was 5 minutes from here and the hospital was 3 minutes from there. So we were in a bit of a rush.
"Listen, call me if this gets a be a little too much for you. I know you've been stationed with your father and brother your whole life, so this might be hard." Myles talks as he grips my hand on the gear shift.
I smile, because even though an ounce of fear lies in my body. I still love this man.
Or at least loved.
