"But nothings changed, LA's alright.
I'm sleeping in my bed again and
getting in my head."

"Damn it. I still can't get a signal." Hen bangs her hand up against the walkie-talkie, but eventually gives in and drops it to her side.

"Yeah, me either," Owen responds but shoots his head to the side when a disgruntled, and very much dead Tim pops up.

"You're in a mineshaft, genius."

Owen inhales a deep breath and looks over to Hen as she slides down the mineshaft wall. "So how long have you been married? You mentioned a wife."

"Oh, good, small talk," Zombie Tim says.

"Almost eight years now. Karen. She's a rocket scientist." Hen's eyes brighten at the thought of her loving wife, while Owens's eyes widen in surprise at her job.

"A literal rocket scientist?"

Hen scoffs and pats her leg. "Well, she's a stay-at-home rocket scientist at the moment. Cutbacks at JPL."

"You have kids?"

"Denny is ten. And our little Nia, she's three. You?"

Owen smiles at the thought of his two children who are probably going crazy as the two speak. "One son, TK. One daughter, Raya. Twins. You might have met them. Both of them work with me. Tk's probably climbing the walls right now, while Raya punches everything that comes in her path."

"Now that you mention it, I did notice the resemblance at the briefing." Hen tilts her head and examines the dark-haired Captain.

"Yeah, people say that. I think they both look like their mom, Gwen, but Raya picks up more of me. But if the plague was good for one thing, it was getting us back together. After 15 years of being divorced, it looks like we're giving it another go-around, which sounds crazy as I say it out loud."

Hen listens to his words but she rakes her mind of where she's heard Raya's name.

"Wait, you said Raya Strand, right?" Owen nods his head and looks at Hen.

"She reached out to me a couple of months ago. I don't know why I'm just making this connection. Wow, what a small world."

Tim pops back up but my dad ignores him.

"What did she reach out for? If you don't mind me asking?"

Hen shakes her head and explains the text messages. "She was asking about Bobby, our Captain at the 118, and was wondering if he was taking transfers. I just gave her his information, and that was as far as it went, Nothing crazy." Hen finishes but looks over to Owens's unsatisfied look.

"Ooo damn, your own daughter didn't tell you about the transfer. Raya was always sneaky" Dead Tim says.

"I have a feeling it's crazy to you though." Hen reads off of him.

Owen shuts his eyes and combs through his hair with his fingers. "Not crazy, just soon. Last time we talked about it, she said she had a couple more months, and she hadn't made any decisions about leaving yet."

"You don't want her to leave."

Owen sighs and looks around. "Raya hasn't always had the easiest life, which is partly my fault, but even when I wasn't messing everything up—"

"She was still struggling." Hen finishes Owens's sentences and leans her head against the wall.

"I'm also not the biggest fan of her boyfriend, gives me an icky vibe." His face snarls up and he wipes his hands off his shirt to create a nasty effect.
